Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, prohibiting the Sale in the Borough of Hastings of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Fishmonger.
WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the fishmongers’ shops within the Borough of Hastings, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a fishmonger—namely, fresh fish, dried fish, crayfish, oysters, and rabbits—be prohibited during such times as the said shops are required to be closed in pursuance of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22 :
And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the sale of the said goods is comprised in the trade of a fishmonger in the said district, and that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops in the said district :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the said Act, I do hereby direct that on and after the 1st day of March, 1923, the sale of the said goods in the Borough of Hastings shall be and is hereby prohibited as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays after the hour of 6 p.m., and on Saturdays after the hour of 8.30 p.m., with the following exception—in the evening of the working-day that first precedes each of the special days mentioned in or coming within the meaning of section 26 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, after the hour of 8.30 p.m.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, fixing the Closing-hours of Stationers’ Shops in the Town District of Waiuku.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the stationers’ shops in the Town District of Waiuku, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the town district be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 5.30 p.m., and on Friday at 9 p.m. :
And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the stationers’ shops in the Town District of Waiuku :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 1st day of March, 1923, all the stationers’ shops in the Town District of Waiuku shall be closed accordingly. The notice gazetted on the 27th April, 1922, fixing the closing-hours of (1) bootssellers’, (2) chemists’, (3) coachbuilders’, (4) drapers’, (5) furnishers’, (6) grocers’, (7) ironmongers’, (8) milliners’, (9) saddlers’, (10) stationers’, and (11) tailors’ shops in the Town District of Waiuku is hereby superseded, in so far as it relates to the shops affected by this notice, as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Notice appointing Wednesday as the Statutory Closing-day in the Otatau Town District.
WHEREAS a poll to determine the statutory closing-day in the Otatau Town District was duly taken under the authority of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, on the 20th day of September, 1922 :
And whereas the Clerk of the Otatau Town Board has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Wednesday as the statutory closing-day in the Otatau Town District :
Now, therefore, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, do hereby appoint Wednesday as the statutory closing-day in the Otatau Town District as from the 22nd day of February, 1923.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, as to the Statutory Closing-day in the Combined District of Gisborne and Mangapapa.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and in terms of notice in writing duly received by me from the chairman of the conference of delegates of all the local authorities of the combined district of Gisborne and Mangapapa, as constituted for the purposes of that Act, and comprising the Borough of Gisborne and the Town District of Mangapapa, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint Thursday to be the statutory closing-day for shops in the said combined district of Gisborne and Mangapapa.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and in terms of notice in writing duly received by me from the chairman of the conference of delegates of all the local authorities of the combined district of Cambridge and Leamington, as constituted for the purposes of that Act, and comprising the Borough of Cambridge and the Town District of Leamington, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint Wednesday to be the statutory closing-day for shops in the said combined district of Cambridge and Leamington.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, as to the Statutory Closing-day in the Combined District of Otahuhu and Papatoetoe.
WHEREAS the local authorities of the Borough of Otahuhu and the Town District of Papatoetoe, comprising the combined district of Otahuhu and Papatoetoe, have failed to decide what working-day in the week shall be the statutory closing-day for shops in their district :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 18 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint Saturday to be the statutory closing-day for shops in the said combined district of Otahuhu and Papatoetoe.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and in terms of notice in writing duly received by me from the chairman of the conference of delegates of all the local authorities of the combined district of Taumarunui and Manunui, as constituted for the purposes of that Act, and comprising the Borough of Taumarunui and the Town District of Manunui, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint Wednesday to be the statutory closing-day for shops in the said combined district of Taumarunui and Manunui.
