NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the above-named company held on the 14th December, 1922, it was resolved that it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that G. A. HARLOW be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—ST. ALBANS EASTERN LOAN OF £3,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off the whole of the loan raised by the late St. Albans Borough Council which falls due on the 1st day of January, 1923, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 113/128ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the St. Albans Eastern Loan Special Rating Area, the boundaries of which special rating area are described in the Schedule hereto; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point on Bealey Avenue two and a half (2½) chains east of Barbadoes Street; thence northerly and parallel with Barbadoes Street to a point five (5) chains beyond Edgeward Road; thence easterly and parallel with Edgeward Road to Hills Road; thence southerly along Hills Road, North Avon Road, and Bealey Avenue to the commencing-point.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—WORKERS’ DWELLINGS LOAN OF £5,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings and constructing works necessary and incidental thereto, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/114th of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waikato County Council proposes to execute certain public works—to wit, the construction of a public road; for which purpose the following land is required to be taken by the said Waikato County Council under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, sections 18 and 19—that is to say, all that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement one acre and twenty-four and six-sevenths perches (more or less), being part of Lot Seven on plan Number 7156 of Allotment Number Sixty-one of the Parish of Komakorau. A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid is deposited at the residence of Mr. J. Paterson on Section 79, Komakorau Parish, River Road, near Horotiu Bridge.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-founded objection to the execution of
