driving aforesaid so to do, give to such person such assistance as may be necessary for the purpose of enabling him to pass with his horse or horses in safety by such engine.
Internal-combustion engines to carry a silencer.
- No engine of the internal-combustion type shall be used on any road within the county without being provided with and affixed thereto an efficient silencer upon the exhaust pipe.
Penalties.
- Every person who shall do or cause or suffer to be done anything contrary to the foregoing by-law, or who shall omit to do anything required to be done by him, shall be deemed to be guilty of an offence, and shall be liable to a penalty of five pounds or such lesser sum as the Court inflicting same shall think fit, and in every case upon which such offence is a continuing one a penalty of five pounds or such lesser sum as the Court shall think fit for every day or part of a day during which such offence shall continue.
Repeal.
- All by-laws relating to heavy traffic in force in the county on the date when this by-law comes into force are hereby repealed, providing always that such repeal shall not affect anything done or any right or liability accrued under any by-laws repealed hereby.
