The lease shall be liable to forfeiture if the lessee fails to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within twenty-one days after the date on which the same ought to have been fulfilled.

Reserves for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the reserves described in the undermentioned Schedule will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, at 11.30 o’clock a.m. on Monday, the 22nd January, 1923, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION part 110, Block XII, Cape Survey District: Area, 21 acres 0 roods 20 perches; upset annual rent, £24; term, seven years.
The section comprises principally flat land with one or two small hills; all ploughable, and laid down in English grasses; partly fenced and subdivided.
Section 59, Block XII, Cape Survey District: Area, 27 acres 2 roods; upset annual rent, £20; term, fourteen years. Level land, in grass.
Section 91, Block VII, Waimate Survey District: Area, 3 acres 1 rood; upset annual rent, £10; term, fourteen years. Section in grass.

ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

Six months’ rent, together with £1 ls. lease fee, must be paid on the fall of the hammer.

There are no restrictions or limitations as to the number of sections which one person may lease, and no declaration is required. Residence is not compulsory. No compensation shall be claimed by the lessee, nor shall any be allowed by the Government, on account of any improvements effected by the lessee, but improvements may be removed on termination of lease.

The leases shall be for the term of years specified, without right of renewal, but shall be subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Government.

Milling-timber in Taranaki Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the right to cut and remove the timber on the undermentioned lands will be offered for sale by public auction, in two lots, at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Tuesday, the 23rd day of January, 1923, at 11.30 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Timber Regulations thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
Lot 1, Section 5, Block VIII, Tangitu Survey District: Area, 341 acres.
Situated on the main Ohura Road, about six miles distant by formed dray-road from Ongarue Township, which is situated on the Main Trunk Railway. The section is divided into two distinct milling areas by a ridge, the bulk of the timber being in the northern area.
Estimated quantity in superficial feet: Kahikatea, 736,265; rimu, 340,925; totara, 489,375; matai, 317,580; miro, 13,395: total, 1,897,540.
Upset price, £3,224.
Time for removal of timber: Three years.
Terms of payment: £1,000, and license fee £1 ls., to be paid on the fall of the hammer, the balance in four equal instalments payable at intervals of one year, eighteen months, two years, and two years and a half respectively.
Lot 2, part Section 1, Block XVI, Aria Survey District, adjoining Town of Matiere: Area, 55 acres approximately.
Situated north of Kahu Street, Matiere Township. Bounded on west by road along Ohura River.
Estimated quantity in superficial feet: Kahikatea, 899,435; rimu, 108,800; matai, 4,315: total, 1,012,550.
Upset price, £1,270.
Time for removal of timber: One year.
Terms of payment: £500, and license fee £1 ls., to be paid on the fall of the hammer, the balance in two equal instalments at intervals of four and eight months respectively.
CONDITIONS OF SALE.

All instalments shall be secured by “On demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold generally in accordance with the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Timber Regulations made thereunder, and such additional conditions as the Commissioner in his discretion considers necessary in the interests of the Crown or of the public.

The quantities of the various timbers set forth in the above Schedule are approximate only, and are furnished for the information of intending purchasers, who are expected, previous to the sale, to make their own estimate of the quantity of timber. No contract for purchase shall be voidable, nor shall the licensee be entitled to any abatement
