New County of Taumarunui divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Counties Act, 1920, and the Waikato and King-country Counties Act, 1921β22, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Taumarunui, as constituted by the said Acts, into four ridings, to be called the Waimiha Riding, the Maungakahu Riding, the Taringamotu Riding, and the Pungapunga Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.
And I do hereby declare that one member shall be elected for the Waimiha Riding, two members for the Maungakahu Riding, three members for the Taringamotu Riding, and two members for the Pungapunga Riding. And I do further declare that Saturday, the twenty-third day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, shall be the day upon which the election of the Council of the said County of Taumarunui shall take place; and Tuesday, the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, at ten thirty oβclock in the forenoon, shall be the time, and the Borough Council Chambers, Taumarunui, shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
WAIMIHA RIDING.
ALL that area in the Taumarunui County bounded towards the west, north, and east by the county boundary, and on the south by a line along the southern boundaries of Waihaha Nos. 3D 2 and 3D 1, along a right line to the south-eastern corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 9, along the southern boundaries of that block and Nos. 66B and 76B 7, 76B 8A, and the production of the last named to the county boundary.
MAUNGAKAHU RIDING.
All that area in the Taumarunui County bounded on the west by the county boundary, on the north by Waimiha Riding hereinbefore described, on the east by Lake Taupo, and on the south by the Kuratau and the Mangaongaki Rivers to the western boundary of Block IV, Maungaku Survey District; along the western boundaries of said Block IV and of Block XVI, Puketapu Survey District; along southern and western boundaries of Block XI to Hauhungaroa No. 4; along the southern boundary of said Block 4; along the northern boundaries of Blocks X and IX, Puketapu Survey District, and the northern boundary of Block XII, Tahua Survey District; along the south-eastern boundary of Rangitoto 21B 1A; along the southern boundary of No. 66A, the eastern and southern boundaries of No. 74B 6E, the southern boundary of northern portion of No. 74B 6G 2, the south-eastern boundary of No. 74B 6A, south-easterly along the eastern boundary of No. 52D 3 for a distance of thirty chains; along a right line to Hikurangi Trig. Station; along the southern boundary of scenic reserve; along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 3, No. 52F; and along the southern boundary of No. 55B 1 to the county boundary.
TARINGAMOTU RIDING.
All that area in the Taumarunui County bounded on the west by the county boundary, on the north by Maungakahu Riding hereinbefore described, on the east by the county boundary, and on the south by the county boundary to Kotikoti Stream; thence northerly along the land district boundary and the eastern boundaries of Blocks X, VI, and 11, Maungaku Survey District; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Waituhi-Kuratau Nos. 4, 2A, and 2 to the south-western corner of the last named; thence westerly to Pukaianganga, and down the Ngakonui Stream to the northern boundary of Ohura South M 3A 1; along the northern boundaries of Nos. M 3A 1, M 3A 2A 1, M 3A 2B, M 3A 2C 1, and M 3E 2; along the western boundaries of M 3E 2, M 3E 1, and M 3A 2D 1 to the south-western corner of the last-named block; thence along a right line to Whatawhata Trig. Station, and along the northern boundary of Taumarunui Borough.
PUNGAPUNGA RIDING.
All that area in the Taumarunui County bounded on the north and east by the Taringamotu Riding hereinbefore described, and on the south and west by the county boundary.
