PUKETUTU–PIOPIO–ARIA RAILWAY BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the rate-
payers of the Puketutu–Piopio–Aria Railway Board District
taken on the 22nd day of August, 1922, on the proposal to
borrow a sum of one hundred and forty-five thousand one
hundred and fifteen pounds (£145,115), for the purpose of
constructing a railway from Puketutu to Aria via Piopio,
the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 180, and
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 294 ;
the number of informal votes was 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto
subsisting between us, the undersigned, FRANCIS
BASSETT and WILLIAM BASSETT, carrying on business at
Weber as Sheep-farmers, is hereby dissolved as from the date
hereof, and that the said FRANCIS BASSETT shall pay and
discharge all the firm’s liabilities.

ROTORUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—ANTECEDENT LIABILITY
LOAN OF £2,700.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Local Bodies’ Finance Act, 1921–22, and by all other Acts
and powers in that behalf enabling, the Rotorua County
Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £2,700, authorized to be raised by the
said Rotorua County Council, under the above-mentioned
Acts, for the purpose of paying off the antecedent liability
as defined by section 5 of the Local Bodies’ Finance Act,
1921–22, the said Rotorua County Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny (½d.) in the
pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of
the County of Rotorua ; and that such special rate shall be
an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BATCHELER, carrying on business as Blacksmiths and Engi-
neers at Mataura under the style or firm of “Downes and
Batcheler,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from
the 30th day of June, 1922. All debts due and owing by
the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by
the said BENJAMIN DOWNES, who will continue to carry on
the said business.

named company are required, on or before the 16th
day of September, 1922, to send their names and addresses
and the particulars of their debts or claims, and the names
and addresses of their solicitors (if any), to Messieurs Rowley
and Gill, 153–155 Featherston Street, Wellington, Liquidators
of the said company, and, if so required by notice in writing
from the said Liquidators, are personally or by their solicitors
to come in and prove their said debts or claims at such time
and place as shall be specified in such notice, or in default
thereof they will be excluded from the benefit of any dis-
tribution made before such debts or claims are proved.

“It having been proved to the satisfaction of the company
that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue
its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the
same, it is hereby resolved that the company be wound up
voluntarily ; and that Messieurs ROWLEY AND GILL are
hereby appointed Liquidators for the purposes of such
winding-up.”
