I, DONALD GEORGE CLARK, Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that The Waikumete Fruitgrowers’ Association is no longer carrying on operations and has no assets, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved, in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1908.—Notice of Proposed Cancellation of Registration.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Dunedin Electrical Engineers and Contractors’ Industrial Union of Employers, registered No. 1000, situated at Dunedin, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 21 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1908, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.

THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been received from the Hydrographic Office, London, and the Hydrographic Office, Washington, are published for general information.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

CHESAPEAKE BAY ENTRANCE.—CAPE HENRY LIGHT.—CHARACTERISTIC TO BE CHANGED.

ABOUT 1st October, 1922, the characteristics of Cape Henry light will be changed to group flashing with three flashes every 20 seconds—thus, flash 1 second, eclipse 2 seconds; flash 1 second, eclipse 2 seconds; flash 7 seconds, eclipse 7 seconds. The white light will have a luminous power of 80,000 candles and the red light 24,000 candles.

The sectors will be unchanged.

Approx. position: 36° 55′ 35″ N., 76° 00′ 27″ W.


PANAMA.

PANAMA BAY.—BALBOA HARBOUR APPROACH.—FLAMENCO ISLAND.—LIGHT TO BE ESTABLISHED.

About 1st July, 1922, a flashing white electric light of 20,000 candle-power, showing two flashes every 5 seconds—flash 0·5 second, eclipse 1 second; flash 2 seconds, eclipse 1·5 seconds—will be established on the south-western side of Flamenco Island. The light will be exhibited 120 ft. above high water from a square concrete pedestal painted white, and will be visible 17 miles. The light will show white from 92° to 185°, red from 185° to 283°; obscured from 283° to 92°. Owing to its location the light structure will be of no use as a daymark.

Approx. position: 8° 54′ 30″ N., 79° 31′ 30″ W.


PACIFIC COAST.

PANAMA BAY APPROACH.—CABO MALA LIGHT.—RED SECTORS TO BE DISCONTINUED.

Date of Alteration.—On the 1st July, 1922.

Position.—Lat. 7° 28′ N., long. 80° 00′ W. (approx.).

New Abridged Description.—Lt. fl. ev. 20 secs., 140 ft., vis. 18 m.

Details.—The two red sectors of this flashing light will be discontinued, and the light will then show white all round the horizon.

Remarks.—No further notice will be given.


URUGUAY.

CAPE SANTA MARIA.—EXISTENCE OF WRECK.

Position.—At a distance of about 18 miles eastward of Cape Santa Maria. Lat. 34° 42′ 40″ S., long. 53° 47′ 50″ W., on Chart No. 2544.

Description.—Sunken wreck of British s.s. “Zero.”

Note.—“P.A.” is to be inserted against the position of the above wreck on the chart.


AUSTRALIA.

NEW SOUTH WALES.—BARUNGUBA (MONTAGU) ISLAND.—AMENDED POSITION OF ROCK SOUTHWARD OF.

Position.—At a distance of 2·25 miles 194° from Barunguba Island Lighthouse, and about 4 cables eastward from position given in former notice. Lat. 36° 17′ S., long. 150° 14′ E. (approx.).

Description.—A pinnacle rock with a least depth of 2½ fathoms (4·6 m.).

WANGANUI HARBOUR.—CASTLECLIFF WHARF ADDITIONS.

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 23rd August, 1922.

THE Wanganui Harbour Board notifies that piles are being driven up to a distance of 15 ft. out from the face of the existing wharf at Castlecliff.

Between the hours of sunset and sunrise a fixed white light will be exhibited from the seaward end of the wharf additions.

Mariners when passing the wharf are warned to allow as much clear margin of distance as possible, as the tide is apt to set vessels towards the wharf.

Charts, &c., affected.—Admiralty Chart No. 2054; “New Zealand Pilot,” ninth edition, 1919, page 101; “New Zealand Nautical Almanac,” 1922, page 218.

CROWN LANDS NOTICE.

Land in Wellington Land District forfeited.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 21st August, 1922.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Wellington Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.
