Notification pursuant to the Public Expenditure Adjustment Act, 1921–22.
IN terms of section 7 of the Public Expenditure Adjustment Act, 1921–22, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Finance, do hereby declare that the aggregate annual rate of salaries payable to persons to whom section 5 of the said Act applies shall, as from the 1st day of July, 1922, be reduced by an aggregate amount equal to but not exceeding £40,000 per annum.
And I do further declare that the rates of remuneration of persons to whom paragraph (b) of section 6 of the said Act applies shall, as from the 1st day of July, 1922, be reduced as follows:—

In the case of persons not paid at an hourly or daily rate, the rate of reduction shall be £5 per annum, increased by £5 per annum in cases where such remuneration exceeded £190 per annum.

In the case of persons paid at an hourly or daily rate, the rate of reduction shall be 4d. a day or its equivalent, increased by 4d. a day or its equivalent in cases where such rate of remuneration exceeded £190 per annum.
