Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Whakatane, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF WHAKATANE.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £16,500.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Whakatane taken on the 30th day of May, 1922, on the proposal of the Whakatane Borough Council to borrow the sum of £16,500 for the purpose of completing its electrical scheme, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 242, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 15; the number of votes recorded as informal was 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.
Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby notify that a poll of ratepayers of the Kaukapakapa Riding of the County of Waitemata was taken on the 10th day of May, 1922, on the proposal of the Waitemata County Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for bridge-building and quarry-equipment in the Kaukapakapa Riding in the County of Waitemata.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 94, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 31; informal, 5.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby notify that a poll of ratepayers of the Kaukapakapa Riding of the County of Waitemata was taken on the 10th day of May, 1922, on the proposal of the Waitemata County Council to borrow the sum of £3,600 for the purpose of road-construction, metalling, bridge and culvert building, and approaches thereto, and improvement generally in the Kaukapakapa Riding of the County of Waitemata.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 89, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 41.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the Borough of Whangarei for the Purposes of Public Offices.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of public offices in the Borough of Whangarei; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Whangarei, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 31 perches.
Being part Section 4, Borough of Whangarei, Block XII, Purua Survey District.
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 54551, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged red.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 16 perches, more or less, being Allotments Nos. 295, 296, 297, 298, and 299 on the plan of the Township of Fitzherberton, deposited as No. 12, being parts Sections 38, 39, and 40 of the said township, being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 15, folio 226, Wellington Registry; the registered proprietor of which is Alexander Smith, of Wellington.
WHEREAS after due inquiry the owner of the above-described land cannot be found: And whereas the said owner has no known agent in New Zealand:
Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land. If such owner fails or neglects so to establish his title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.
