Notice fixing Closing-hours of (1) Tobacconists' and (2) Hairdressers' Shops in the Borough of Gisborne, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) tobacconist and (2) hairdresser in the Borough of Gisborne, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5.30 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9 p.m., with the following exception—on the working-day first preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day first preceding New Year's Day there shall be no fixed closing-hour:
And whereas, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) tobacconist and (2) hairdresser within the Borough of Gisborne:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 8th day of June, 1922, all the shops in each of the trades of (1) tobacconist and (2) hairdresser in the Borough of Gisborne shall be closed accordingly.
The notice gazetted on the 16th December, 1920, fixing the closing-hours of (1) hairdressers' and (2) tobacconists' shops in the Borough of Gisborne is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Order vesting Enemy Property in the Custodian of Enemy Property with Power to sell.
I, WILLIAM CUNNINGHAM MACGREGOR, His Majesty’s Solicitor-General for the Dominion of New Zealand, being satisfied that certain property, to wit, New Zealand war bonds numbered 24781 and 24782 respectively, each for £500, with coupons Nos. 10 to 42 inclusive attached, issued under the War Purposes Loan Act, 1917, which belong in equal shares to Florence Alexander, of Berlin, Germany, Alice Wallach, of Essen, Germany, Ida Wallach, of Essen, Germany, and the estate of Julia Barden, late of Hamburg, Germany, are enemy property within the meaning of the Enemy Property Regulations, 1919, made on the 5th August, 1919, under the War Regulations Act, 1914, and its amendments, which regulations now continue in force by virtue of the War Regulations Continuance Act, 1920, do hereby, in the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the said regulations, order that the said war bonds and coupons be vested in the Custodian of Enemy Property with power to sell, realize, or dispose of the same at such time or times and in such manner as he in his absolute discretion shall think fit.

TAURANGA HARBOUR.—LIGHTED BEACON TRANSFERRED.

THE Tauranga Harbour Board notifies that the undermentioned alteration of aids to navigation in the upper harbour will be made on the dates specified hereunder:—
(1.) Lighted Beacon installed.—On and after 1st June, 1922, an unwatched (U) Aga white light, flashing every 2 seconds (½ second light, 1½ seconds eclipse), height 11 ft., visible all round the horizon for a distance of five miles, will be shown from a single-pile beacon, which has been installed at a position formerly marked by a red buoy on the western side of the new channel to the eastward of Sulphur Point Spit. The beacon is to the westward of black buoy No. 2, Sulphur Point Spit beacon 309° 1,500 ft.
The distance between the lighted beacon and black buoy No. 2 is 200 ft., the least depth of water on this line being 12 ft. at M.L.W.S.
(2.) Lighted Beacon discontinued.—On and after 1st June, 1922, the flashing light on Sulphur Point Spit concrete beacon, situated 035° 600 ft. from Sulphur Point, will be discontinued. The existing concrete beacon, the upper portion of which is of a circular shape and the top of which is 6 ft. above M.H.W.S. will not be removed.
Vessels desiring to proceed to Tauranga wharves from the lower harbour should, when passing the fairway buoy, steer to pass midway between the new single-pile lighted beacon and the black buoy No. 2; after which a course may be shaped to pass about 50 yards off the black buoys on the eastern side of the channel until abreast of Mission Point, when a course may be steered for a short berth off the town wharf.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—PROTECTED AREA FOR YACHTS.

THE Auckland Harbour Board notifies that the original boundary-line of Area No. 1, Judge’s and Mechanics’ Bays, which was necessarily departed from owing to dredging operations in that locality has now been restored as follows:—
Area No. 1, Protected for Yachts, Judge’s and Mechanics’ Bays: Commencing from the inner end of the western side of Parnell Wharf, thence by a line 018° for a distance of 2·3 cables, which point will be indicated by a small black buoy, thence 104° to the black buoy off Resolution Point, thence 208° for a distance of 2·2 cables to Resolution*Point.
This notice cancels Notice to Mariners No. 64 of 1921. By the foregoing it will be seen that the former boundary-lines, as laid down in Notice to Mariners No. 65 of 1919, have now been reverted to.
