IT is hereby notified that the undermentioned persons
have been appointed to be the Deputies of the Registrars
of Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the districts
set respectively opposite their names, viz. :-

Appointment as Ranger under the Animals Protection and
Game Act, 1921-22.

Department of Internal Affairs,

Wellington, 27th May, 1922.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, William Downie
Stewart, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint Mr. William Cleaver, of
Little Barrier Island, to be a Ranger under the said Act to
exercise his duties generally throughout New Zealand.

As witness my hand at Wellington this 27th day of May,
1922.

N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL DEPARTMENT.

Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) W. Aitken, M.C., M.B.,
relinquishes the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel,
and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, N.Z. Medical
Corps. Dated 1st June, 1922.

Captain (temp. Major) C. A. Pemberton, M.R.C.S. Eng.,
relinquishes the temporary rank of Major, and is transferred
to the Reserve of Officers, N.Z. Medical Corps. Dated
1st June, 1922.

1ST N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES REGIMENT (CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY).

2nd Lieutenant A. A. E. Pennefather to be Lieutenant.
Dated 20th May, 1922.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant J. T. Hill (18th Battery) is transferred to the
Auckland Regiment (6th C. Battalion). Dated 15th May,
1922.

Colin Augustus Speight to be 2nd Lieutenant (2nd Battery).

THE N.Z. INFANTRY.

The Auckland Regiment.

Major R. F. Gambrill, from the Reserve of Officers, to be
Major (2nd Battalion), with seniority from 1st July, 1921.
Dated 22nd May, 1922.

Lieutenant J. T. Hill, from the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery
(18th Battery), to be Lieutenant (6th C. Battalion). Dated
15th May, 1922.

2nd Lieutenant E. R. F. Scarfe, D.C.M., late Unattached
List (General List), to be 2nd Lieutenant (2nd Battalion).
Dated 1st July, 1921.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 90, of
4th November, 1920, relating to the above-named officer
is hereby cancelled.

The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (on probation),

24th June, 1920, relating to the retirement of the abovenamed officer is hereby cancelled.

The Wellington Regiment.

John Todd McCaw to be 2nd Lieutenant (5th C. Battalion).
Dated 20th May, 1922.

The Canterbury Regiment.

Lieutenant J. G. Johnson is transferred to the Reserve of
Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 10. Dated 20th May, 1922.

N.Z. Medical Corps.

Captain A. N. McKelvey is granted the temporary rank of
Major whilst doing duty with the Medical Depot, Northern
Command. Dated 1st June, 1922.

Captain (temp. Major) A. D. Anderson relinquishes the temporary rank of Major, and is transferred to the Reserve of
Officers. Dated 16th May, 1922.

ERRATUM.

With reference to the notice appearing in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 103, of 15th December, 1921, relating to the
transfer of the undermentioned officers to the Reserve of
Officers, the date of transfer is amended to read as follows:-

Colonel R. W. McVilly, M.V.O. Dated 20th May, 1922.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Council of the County of Clifton, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

COUNTY OF CLIFTON.

Special Bridge Loan, £15,000.-Result of Poll on Proposal to
raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the
County of Clifton was taken on the 8th day of May, 1922,
on the proposal of the Clifton County Council to borrow the
sum of £15,000 for the reconstruction of bridges within the
jurisdiction of the said Council.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 167,
and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 37.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Dated this 12th day of May, 1922.

Board of the Te Awamutu Electric-power District, is
published in accordance with the provisions of the Local
Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Te
Awamutu Electric-power District was taken on the 17th day
of May, 1922, on the proposal of the Te Awamutu Electricpower Board to borrow the sum of £25,000 for purchase of
motors, electric wires, electric lamps, fittings, machinery, and
other equipment for the use of electric energy as applied to
industrial, domestic, and other purposes; and the installation
