NOTICE is hereby given that surrenders of the lease and license of the undermentioned lands having been accepted by resolution of the Nelson Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Pastoral Run in Hawke’s Bay Land District liable to Forfeiture.

PURSUANT to section 251 of the Land Act, 1908, notice is hereby given to the occupier of the undermentioned pastoral run that the license thereof is liable to forfeiture, and that if the rent overdue thereon, together with the full amount of the penalty, be not paid within three months after the date of insertion of this notice in the Gazette the license will be declared forfeited.

Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 18th May, 1922.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction, for cash or on deferred payments, at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, 28th June, 1922, at 11.30 a.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

HIGHBANK VILLAGE SETTLEMENT.

SECTIONS 1, 2, and 3, Block II, Corwar Survey District, Ashburton County: Area, 3 acres; upset purchase price, £90.

Situated in the centre of the Highbank Settlement, about six miles eastward from Methven Township and railway-station. Heavy agricultural land, in bad pasture, watered by county race.

TERMS OF SALE.

The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred payments extending over a period of nineteen years. The terms are—

(1.) Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter.

(2.) Deferred Payments.—5 per cent. of the purchase-money and license fee (£1 1s.) on the fall of the hammer, balance by equal annual instalments extending over nineteen years, with interest payable half-yearly at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum on the unpaid purchase-money; but with the right to pay off at any time the whole or any part of the outstanding amount.

In either case, if the purchaser fails to make any of the prescribed payments by due date, whether of purchase-money or interest, the amount (if any) already paid shall be forfeited and the contract for the sale of the land be null and void.

Titles will be subject to section 60 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1912.

Lands in Canterbury Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 22nd May, 1922.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 18th day of July, 1922.

The lands may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for a term of thirty-three years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of thirty-three years and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 20th day of July, at 10 o’clock a.m.; but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of any other district.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.

NOTE.—The instalment on deferred payment includes payment for buildings.

All first-class agricultural land in English grasses, red clover, and stubble. Sections 1, 2, 3, and 13 are watered by a water-race, but there is no permanent water on the others. Access is by good metalled road one mile and a quarter from the tram service and five miles from Christchurch.

IMPROVEMENTS.

Section 13 is weighted with £120 for stables, cow-shed, and sheep-yards, and Section 14 with £30 for shed, which may be paid for in cash, or by twenty half-yearly instalments of £7 15s. 5d. and £1 18s. 10d. respectively, or may be paid for out of advances.

Section 16 is weighted with £200 for storehouse, which may be paid for in cash, or by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £10 2s., or may be paid for out of advances.

The fences on Avonhead Road are not the proper boundaries, as the necessary land has been dedicated by the previous owner for road-widening purposes.

SPECIAL CONDITION.

The Agriculture Department reserves the right to remove all fences surrounding the piggery on Section 14, and also all water-pipes on Sections 13 and 14.
