Amending Regulations under Customs Acts.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 5th day of May, 1922.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Customs Act, 1913, and the Customs Amendment Act, 1921, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Customs Regulations made by Order in Council on the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and gazetted on the same day, in manner indicated in the Schedule hereto; and doth order that this Order in Council shall be deemed to have come into force on the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, and to have applied to all goods entered for home consumption on and after that date.

SCHEDULE.

Clause 4 of the Customs Regulations hereinbefore referred to is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:—
“Provided that goods produced or manufactured in a country the produce or manufactures of which are entitled to be entered for duty under the British Preferential Tariff, which after shipment therefrom have entered into the commerce of the Commonwealth of Australia, shall be entitled to be entered for duty under the British Preferential Tariff if the Collector of Customs at the port of entry is satisfied, by the production of a certificate signed by an officer of Customs in Australia, that the said goods are the produce or manufacture of such first-mentioned country: Provided further that, in any special case, the Collector at the port of entry may dispense with the production of the said certificate and admit any such goods under the British Preferential Tariff if he is fully satisfied, by evidence produced to him, that the said goods have been produced or manufactured in a country the produce or manufactures of which are entitled to be entered for duty under the British Preferential Tariff.”

Regulations relating to Stores Control Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 5th day of May, 1922.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by paragraph (d) of subsection two of section three of the Public Revenues Act, 1910, it is provided that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, make regulations for the purchase, safe custody, and issue of public stores, and rendering accounts in respect of such stores, and for the audit of such accounts: Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations for the purpose of better controlling the purchase, use, and distribution of stores required by Government Departments; and doth declare that the regulations hereby made shall come into force on the twenty-second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two.

REGULATIONS.

DEFINITIONS.

  1. UNDER these regulations—
    “Board” means “The Stores Control Board.”
    “Advisory Committee” means the committee consisting of the Controller of Stores, Railway Department; Stores Manager, Public Works Department; and Stores Manager, Post and Telegraph Department.
    “Supplies and Tenders Committees” means the separate departmental committees consisting of departmental officers nominated respectively by the Permanent Heads of the New Zealand Railways, Public Works, and Post and Telegraph Departments.
    “Purchasing Departments” means the Railways Department, the Public Works Department, and the Post and Telegraph Department.
    “District Supplies and Tenders Committees” means committees of the District Storekeeper representatives of the Railway and Public Works Departments, and such district officer as may be appointed in that behalf by the Permanent Head of the Post and Telegraph Department.
