Proposed Boundaries of the Electoral Districts in the North Island of New Zealand.

THE North Island Representation Commission appointed under the Legislature Act, 1908, in pursuance of section 21 of the said Act, hereby publish for general information the following proposed boundaries of the electoral districts in the North Island; and further, give notice that written objections to the same will be received by the undersigned, the Chairman of the said Commission, at the office of the Surveyor-General, Wellington, not later than noon on Monday, the 9th day of January, 1922, for consideration by the aforesaid Commission.

Maps of the proposed districts may be seen at the offices of the several local bodies in the said North Island; of the Chief Surveyors at Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier, and Wellington; of the Chief Electoral Officer at Wellington; and of the several Registrars of Electors throughout the North Island aforesaid.

NORTH ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.

BAY OF ISLANDS.

BAY OF ISLANDS District comprises the existing Bay of Islands Electoral District together with the Town District of Hikurangi and that portion of Hikurangi Riding of Whangarei County lying to the north-east of the Mangahahuru River; also that portion of the Mangakahia Riding of the said county lying to the south of the existing electoral boundary, and less that portion of Tangowahine Riding of Hobson County lying to the North of the existing electoral boundary and the southern boundary of Whangarei County.

KAIPARA.

Kaipara District comprises the existing Kaipara Electoral District less that portion of the Mangakahia Riding of Whangarei County now included in the Bay of Islands Electoral District hereinbefore described. This district now includes that portion of the Tangowahine Riding of Hobson County lying to the north of the existing electoral boundary and the southern boundary of Whangarei County, together with the whole of the Mairetahi, Kumeu, Pukeatua, Birkenhead, and Takapuna Ridings of Waitemata County, less those portions of the aforesaid Birkenhead and Takapuna Ridings lying to the south of the northern boundary of Section 126, Blocks XI and XII, Waitemata Survey District, the northern boundary of Section 124, Blocks VIII and XII, the northern boundary of Section 219, the north-western boundaries of Sections 218, 110, 109, 108, 107, 106, and the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 105 of the aforesaid block and survey district; also less the whole of the Wainui Riding of Waitemata County and that part of the Kaukapakapa Riding of the said county lying to the north-east of the Makarau River; also less the Puhoi Riding of Rodney County and that portion of the Albert Riding of the said Rodney County lying to the north-east of the south-western boundary of Section 124, Blocks XI and XII, Otamatea Survey District, and the south-western boundaries of Sections 123, 122, 121, and north-eastern boundaries of Section 126, Block XII, Section 125, Blocks XII and XVI, and the road continuing from the southernmost corner of the said Section 125 of the aforesaid block and survey district to the aforesaid riding boundary at the road by Wellsford Railway-station.

MARSDEN.

Marsden District comprises the existing Marsden Electoral District together with the Puhoi and part of the Albert Ridings of Rodney County, also the Wainui and part of the Kaukapakapa Ridings of Waitemata County now excluded from the Kaipara Electoral District hereinbefore described; less the Town District of Hikurangi and that portion of the Hikurangi Riding of Whangarei County now included in the Bay of Islands Electoral District hereinbefore described. This district now includes Motu Hinou, Morotiri, Heu, Kawau, Moutuketekete, Moturekareka, Motuhoro, Tiritiri, and adjacent islands.
