Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 3rd November, 1921.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Woodlands Drainage District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WOODLANDS DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the proposed special rating district of the Woodlands Drainage Board was taken on the 25th day of October, 1921, on the proposal of the Woodlands Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £3,000 for carrying out drainage-works.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 24, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 0. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XVI, East Cape Survey District, for Lighthouse Purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a lighthouse in Block XVI, East Cape Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Te Araroa, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of Grocers’ Shops in the Borough of Oamaru, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’ shops in the Borough of Oamaru, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, 5.30 p.m.; Fridays, 8 p.m.:
And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’ shops within the Borough of Oamaru:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, I do hereby direct that on and after the 17th day of November, 1921, all the grocers’ shops within the Borough of Oamaru shall be closed accordingly.

I, ROBERT EDWARD HAYES, Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that The Empire City Athletic and Cycling Club is no longer carrying on its operations and has no assets, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved, in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—PROTECTED ANCHORAGE FOR YACHTS.

REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 65, of the 23rd September, 1919, the Auckland Harbour Board notifies that the protected anchorage for yachts, Area No. 1, Judges and Mechanics Bays, has been temporarily extended to the westward, as follows:—
The northern boundary-line, which commences at a position 0° 2·1 cables from Resolution Point, has been carried to the westward to a position where it intersects a line projected 18° from the north embankment of the new eastern reclamation. By the foregoing it will be seen that the northern boundary-line has been temporarily extended to the westward for a distance of one cable.
Notice will be given when the foregoing temporary extension has been removed.
