known as the Hawke’s Bay District and Wellington District into three health districts defined in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare that the names of such districts shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto, and that the boundaries of the said districts shall respectively extend to the boundaries of and the said districts shall include all the counties, boroughs, and town districts geographically contained in such districts as specified in the said Schedule, together with all the islands adjacent thereto.

SCHEDULE.

HAWKE’S BAY HEALTH DISTRICT.

ALL that area comprising the counties of Waiapu, Matakaoa, Cook, Uawa, Waikohu, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, Waipawa, Waipukurau, Dannevirke, Patangata, Woodville, and Weber, and all boroughs and town districts geographically contained in or adjacent to the said counties.

WELLINGTON HEALTH DISTRICT.

All that area comprising the counties of Kiwitea, Pohangina, Oroua, Manawatu, Kairanga, Horowhenua, Pahiatua, Akitio, Eketahuna, Mauriceville, Castlepoint, Masterton, Wairarapa South, Featherston, Hutt, and Makara, and all boroughs and town districts geographically contained in or adjacent to the said counties.

WANGANUI AND TARANAKI HEALTH DISTRICT.

All that area comprising the counties of Clifton, Taranaki, Inglewood, Egmont, Stratford, Whangamomona, Eltham, Hawera, Waimate West, Patea, Waitotara, Wanganui, Waimarino, and Rangitikei, and all boroughs and town districts geographically contained in or adjacent to the said counties.

Revoking Order in Council licensing Thomas Hartley and Son to use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore on the Hokianga River as a Site for a Shipping Office.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of November, 1921.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, Thomas Hartley and Thomas Francis Hartley, trading under the style or title of “Thomas Hartley and Son,” of Kohukohu, were licensed to use and occupy a portion of the foreshore on Hokianga River as a site for a shipping office, as shown in plan marked M.D. 3646, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington: And whereas it is desirable to revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council dated the sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred, as from the fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, North Canterbury Acclimatization District (Waimakariri Deer Forest).

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the North Canterbury Acclimatization District, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS.

  1. RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within that part of the North Canterbury Acclimatization District described in the First Schedule hereto from the 1st day of April, 1922, to the 15th day of May, 1922 (both days inclusive).

  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Christchurch, upon the recommendation of the secretary of the North Canterbury Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £5, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations. The number of such licenses to be issued by the said Chief Postmaster shall not exceed seven. Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person; and also that if the number of applications received for licenses exceeds the number of available licenses, then the persons to whom such licenses are to be issued shall be decided by ballot.

  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than two stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points. Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullet shall be used for killing such deer.

  4. No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  6. Regulations as to deer “tags,” per New Zealand Gazette No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, page 1408, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the secretary of the North Canterbury Acclimatization Society, Christchurch, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

  7. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

Waimakariri Deer Forest.

The watersheds of the Poulter and Esk Rivers, and that portion of the Craigieburn Run lying between the Waimakariri River and the Midland Railway line.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

No. . License to take or kill Game (Deer).

, of , having this day paid the sum of £ , is hereby authorized to take or kill deer (stags), of not less than points, within that part of the North Canterbury Acclimatization District known as the Waimakariri Deer Forest, as described in the endorsement hereon, from the day of , 1922, to the day of , 1922 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regulations affecting red deer made thereunder and in force within the said district.
