And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers’ shops in the Borough of Featherston :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, I do hereby direct that on and after the 15th day of September, 1921, all drapers’ shops in the Borough of Featherston shall be closed accordingly.
The notice gazetted on the 6th April, 1911, fixing the closing-hours of grocery, drapery, boot, crockery, seed and produce, clothiers’ and tailors’ and mercers’ shops in the Town District of Featherston is hereby superseded, in so far as it relates to the shops affected by this notice, as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of all the Grocers’ Shops in the Borough of Featherston, under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers’ shops in the Borough of Featherston, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Subject to closing at not later than 1 p.m. on the day observed as the statutory closing-day, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 5.30 p.m., and on Fridays at 8 p.m., with the exception that in the evening of the working-day that first precedes any of the special days (other than Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) mentioned in or coming within the meaning of section 19 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, the closing-hour shall be 8 p.m., and in the evening of the working-day that first precedes Christmas Day and in the evening of the working-day that first precedes New Year’s Day the closing-hour shall be 10 p.m. :

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 109 of the Counties Act, 1920, that so much of the by-laws made by the Kaitieke County Council, and sealed on the 9th day of June, 1921, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Kaitieke County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, Part II, Unclaimed Lands.
WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (relating to unclaimed lands), made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and the whereabouts of the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 66 of that Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act pertinent hereto: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained the whereabouts of the owner, and believe that such owner or an agent of such owner is not in the Dominion, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908; the value of the land for the purposes of section 67 (d) of the said Act being less than £100.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being middle portion of Allotment 40, Parish of Waitara, granted in 1865 to one James Brown.
Notice by the Public Trustee in pursuance of Section 89 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908.
WHEREAS it is reported to the Public Trustee that William Williams, formerly of Hall Farm, Llangenny, near Crickhowell, in the County of Brecon and Principality of Wales in England, was entitled under the will of Thomas Watkins Griffiths, deceased, late of Christchurch, to a legacy of £500, and it was not known whether he was alive or dead or where he was :
And whereas application has been made on behalf of the Public Trustee to the Supreme Court for an order under section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, in respect of such legacy, and by an order made in the Supreme Court at Christchurch on the 17th day of June, 1921, the Public Trustee was authorized to receive payment of the legacy of £500 to be held by him in accordance with the provisions of Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 :
And whereas the estate out of which such legacy is payable is situate in the Provincial District of Canterbury :
Now, the Public Trustee hereby gives notice that he proposes to exercise in respect of such legacy the powers conferred upon him by Part III of the said Act.

To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 40 acres, more or less, being the north-western portion of Allotment 81, Parish of Mangapai. Bounded on the north-east by Allotment 82 of the said parish, 1240·2 links; on the south-east by other part of the said Allotment 81, 3284·5 links; on the south-west by a road, 497 links, 418 links, and 387·5 links; and on the north-west by Allotment 80 of the said parish, 3065·5 links.
WHEREAS, after due inquiry, the owner of the above-described land cannot be found; and whereas the said owner has no known agent in New Zealand: Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land; and if he fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that by an agreement made with the German Clearing Office, now awaiting the approval of the Reichstag, the time for lodging claims with the British Clearing Offices by their respective nationals under Article 296, Section III, Part X, of the Treaty of Versailles, has been extended to the 30th September, 1921. No further claims under the above article will be accepted after that date by the Clearing Offices concerned.
