  1. Immediately after the ballot the Commissioner of
    Crown Lands, or officer superintending the ballot, and the
    scrutineer (if any) shall certify on the ballot-list that the
    ballot has been conducted in accordance with these regula-
    tions.

Revoking the Prohibition of the Exportation of Butter.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of
August, 1921.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon him by section forty-seven of
the Customs Act, 1913, and section twenty-four of the Regula-
tion of Trade and Commerce Act, 1914, and of all other powers
and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
that Dominion, doth hereby further amend the Order in
Council made on the twenty-fourth day of November, one
thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette on the twenty-seventh day of November
then instant, which prohibited to the extent specified therein
the exportation from New Zealand of certain goods, by
omitting the word “butter” from the Second Schedule
thereto; and doth order that this amendment shall take
effect on and from the first day of September, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-one.

Vesting a Reserve in the Nightcaps Town Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of
August, 1921.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule here-
to has been permanently reserved for a public
cemetery: And whereas it is expedient to vest the said
reserve in the Nightcaps Town Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and
after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in
the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Nightcaps
Town Board, in trust, for a public cemetery.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 191, Wairio Survey District: Area, 6 acres 2 roods

Variation of an Order in Council prohibiting all Alienation
of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of
the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of
August, 1921.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-three of
the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any
Order in Council made under that section may at any time
be varied or revoked :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Dominion, doth hereby vary the Order in Council
set out in the First Part of the Schedule hereto, but only
in so far as it affects the land set out in the Second Part of
the said Schedule and to the extent therein mentioned.


SCHEDULE.

FIRST PART.

ORDER in Council under section 363 of the Native Land Act,
1909, dated the 10th January, 1921, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette dated the 20th January, 1921, affecting
Tapatu and Waitangirua No. 2 Block.

SECOND PART.

Tapatu and Waitangirua No. 2B Block, containing 700 acres,
in so far as to permit of the land being leased to Mr. L. R.
Bright (a returned soldier).

Vesting the Control of Scenic Reserves in the Summit Road
Scenic Reserves Board, under the Scenery Preservation Act,
1908.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery
Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control
of the reserves described in the Schedule below (being land
reserved under the said Act), for the period of three years
from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked
under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely—

The Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Canterbury
Land District, or his Deputy (ex officio),
David Bates,
George Thomas Booth,
George Bowron,
Charles Chilton, M.A., D.Sc., F.L.S.,
Henry George Ell,
George Gould,
Frank Edward Graham,
George Harper,
Henry Smart Hobday,
William Machin,
Robert Malcolm,
Arthur Roscoe Vernon Morten,
Walter Fox Parkinson,
William Reece, and
Frederick Maurice Warren,

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board
by the name of the Summit Road Scenic Reserves Board
(herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the pre-
servation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the
conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business at
    the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, at such
    times as may be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall
    be held on Tuesday, the thirtieth of August, one thousand
    nine hundred and twenty-one.

  2. The Commissioner of Crown Lands or his Deputy shall
    be the Chairman of the Board. He may join in the discussion,
    and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman,
    provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to
    each member, specifying the business to be transacted at
    such special meeting; and no other business than that so
    specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum.
    Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

  6. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose one of their number to be chairman of such
    meeting.

  7. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the
    seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any
    member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from
    three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-
    General shall have power to appoint any other person to be
    a member of the Board in his stead.

  8. The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meet-
    ing to be held in the month of April in each year a report of
    the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on
