parts of the said archdiocese lands which by reason of altered
circumstances are no longer suitable for the purposes for
which they were originally acquired : Notice is hereby
given that, within fourteen days of the meeting of the
General Assembly of New Zealand to be held next after the
date of this notice, a petition will be presented to the said
General Assembly praying and applying for leave to bring
in a Private Bill to be called "The Roman Catholic Arch-
bishop of Wellington Empowering Act, 1921."
The objects of the said application and Bill are—
To enable the Archbishop to sell the lands described in
the Schedule thereto, or any of them, and to expend the
proceeds thereof in the purchase of other lands in the arch-
dioceise, and to erect churches and school buildings thereon,
and to borrow money on the security of lands so acquired
or of any of them.
A copy of the said petition and Bill will be deposited in
the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders either before
or within fourteen days of the commencement of the said
session.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by
the Housing Act, 1919, section 16 of the Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1913, and sections 192 and 195 of the Counties
Act, 1920, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling, the
Pohangina County Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments of
principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of
£400, authorized to be raised by the Pohangina County
Council, under the Housing Act, 1919, section 16 of the Local
Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and sections 192 and 195 of the
Counties Act, 1920, and amendments thereto, for the purpose
of acquiring a worker's dwelling for the use of the Pohangina
Riding Roadman, and erecting a worker's dwelling for the use
of the Te Awa Roadman, the said Pohangina County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one forty-second of
a penny in the pound on the capital rateable value of all the
rateable property in the Te Awa Roadman's and Pohangina
Riding Roadman's Special Rating Area, the same being Sec-
tions 1 to 3 inclusive, Block II, Sections 6, 8 to 19 inclusive,
Block V, Sections 1 to 8 inclusive, part 9, 10 to 32 inclusive,
34, and 36, Block VI, Sections 61, 62, 65, 66, 68, 73, Block IX,
Sections 1 to 20 inclusive, Block X, Sections 43 to 51 inclusive,
54 to 56 inclusive, part 78, Block XIII, Section 5, Block VII,
and the whole of the suburbs and Township of Pohangina ;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly
on the sixteenth day of April and the sixteenth day of Octo-
ber in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
THE Partnership business formerly carried on by
FREDERICK G. LENNARD and PETER CAREY at Glee-
son's Buildings, High Street, and more recently by the trustees
of the late F. G. Lennard and Peter Carey at 22 Customs
Street East, under the style of "Frederick G. Lennard and
Co.," has been dissolved by mutual consent.
The business will henceforth be carried on by Mr. PETER
CAREY alone, under the style of "P. Carey and Co.," and he
will discharge the liabilities of the late Partnership.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Wai-
mate Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in
respect of principal and interest and also other charges on a
loan of £2,700, authorized to be raised by the Waimate
Borough Council, under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
for the purpose of completion of sewerage-disposal works, the
said Waimate Borough Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of three-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling
upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the
Borough of Waimate, comprising the whole of the Borough
of Waimate; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be pay-
able yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.
