First Meeting of Kaitangata Fire Board.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 24th January, 1921.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, hereby appoint the Kaitangata Borough Chambers, Kaitangata, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, the 16th March, 1921, to be the place and date for holding the first meeting of the Kaitangata Fire Board.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XI, Benger Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block XI, Benger Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Roxburgh, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 1 acre 2 roods 3 perches.

Portion of Section 1, Block XI, Benger Survey District.

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 50624, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Order vesting Shares in a certain Company in the Custodian of Enemy Property.

I, WILLIAM CUNNINGHAM MACGREGOR, His Majesty’s Solicitor-General for the Dominion of New Zealand, being satisfied that the shares specified in the Schedule hereto in the company incorporated in New Zealand and mentioned in that Schedule belong at law or in equity to an enemy within the meaning of clause 3 of the War Regulations of the 2nd May, 1916 (as continued in force by the War Regulations Continuance Act, 1920), or that such enemy possesses legal or equitable interest in those shares, do hereby, in pursuance of the authority conferred upon me by clause 3 of the said regulations, order and declare that the shares so specified in the Schedule hereto shall be vested in the Custodian of Enemy Property.

Export of Butter.

Customs Department,
Wellington, 25th January, 1921.

IT is hereby notified, for public information, that the Minister has authorized Collectors of Customs to grant permits for the exportation through the Post Office, to any destination, of butter in tins not exceeding two pounds in weight, on the following conditions:—

(1.) That application is made to the Collector of Customs at the nearest port, stating (a) the name and address of the consignee, and (b) the quantity of butter proposed to be exported;

(2.) That the applicant forwards to the Collector the amount of the subsidy paid thereon at the rate of 6d. per pound.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, ROBERT EDWARD HAYES, Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that The Canterbury Central Fund Society (Registered) is no longer carrying on its operations and has no assets, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved, in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

Sale of Unclaimed Property.

Election of Member of Marlborough Land Board.—Result of Poll.

I, HENRY JAMES LOWE, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Marlborough Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with section 41 of the Land Act, 1908, and the regulations thereunder, the result of the poll taken by me on the 17th day of January, 1921, for the election of a member of the Marlborough Land Board to be as follows:—

Number of votes rejected as informal .. 46
