NOTICE is hereby given that the leases and licenses of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeited
by resolution of the Wellington Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown, under the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.

Education Reserve in North Auckland Land District for Lease
by Public Tender.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 4th July, 1921.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders will be
received at this office up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Friday,
19th August, 1921, for leases of the undermentioned education
reserves, in accordance with the provisions of the Public
Bodies' Leases Act, 1908, and the Education Reserves Act,
1908, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
SECTIONS 142, 142A, 143A, Tauraroa Parish, Whangarei
County : Area, 465 acres ; minimum annual rental, £50.
Weighted with £2,000, valuation for improvements consisting of 375 acres felled and grassed and 250 chains fencing.
Situated on Tauraroa Stream, access from Waikiekie ten
miles distant. About 60 acres flat, subject to floods; balance
half undulating to hilly, half broken; all grass, except about
90 acres of bush, fairly light. Soil medium quality clay,
except flat, which is fair quality. Sections well watered as a
whole.
ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. Six months' rent at the rate offered, valuation for
    improvements, and £2 2s. lease fee and cost of registration
    must be deposited with tender.
  2. Term of lease, twenty-one years, with perpetual right
    of renewal for further similar terms at rentals based on fresh
    valuations under the provisions of the Public Bodies' Leases
    Act, 1908.
  3. Rent payable half-yearly in advance.
  4. Lessee to maintain in good substantial repair all buildings, drains, and fences; to keep clear all creeks, drains,
    ditches, and watercourses; to trim all live hedges; and yield
    up all improvements in good order and condition at the
    expiration of his lease.
  5. Lessee not to transfer, sublet, or subdivide without the
    consent of the Land Board.
  6. Lessee to keep the land free from noxious weeds, rabbits,
    and vermin.
  7. Lessee not to use or remove any gravel without the
    consent of the Land Board.
  8. Lessee not to carry on any noxious, noisome, or offensive
    trade upon the land.
  9. Lessee not to make improvements without the consent
    of the Land Board.
  10. Lessee not entitled to any compensation for improvements; but if the lease is not renewed upon expiration, the
    new lease offered for disposal by public competition will be
    subject to payment by the incoming tenant of valuation for
    buildings and improvements effected by the original lessee
    with the consent of the Board ; failing disposal, the land and
    buildings to revert to the Crown without compensation.
  11. Lease liable to forfeiture if conditions are violated.
  12. Lessee to keep buildings insured.
  13. Interest at the rate of 10 per cent. per annum to be
    paid on rent in arrear.
    Education reserves are included in the classes of land on
    which, with the approval of the Advances Board, money may
    be advanced by the State-guaranteed Advances Office.
    The reserve is described for the general information of
    intending tenderers, who are recommended, nevertheless, to
    make a personal inspection, as the Department is not responsible for the absolute accuracy of any description.
    Form of lease may be perused and full particulars obtained
    at this office.

    Pastoral Run in Southland Land District open for Selection.
    District Lands and Survey Office,
    Invercargill, 4th July, 1921.
    NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral
    run is open for selection for license under the Land
    Act, 1908, and amendments; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill,
    up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 13th day of September,
  14. Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board
    for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office on
    Thursday, the 15th day of September, 1921, at 10.45 a.m.
    The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination
    of applicants.
    SCHEDULE.
    SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.-WALLACE COUNTY.
    Class A.-Education Endowment.
    Lot 2 of Run 301c, Blocks II, III, IV, and V, Mararoa
    District : Area, 11,573 acres; annual rental, £175.
    Weighted with £582, valuation for improvements consisting of fencing.
    DESCRIPTION OF RUN.
    This area is part of the Linwood Run, and is situated
    seven miles and a half from Manapouri Township and thirty-two miles from Mossburn, by formed road practically all
    gravelled. The altitude varies from 700 ft. to 1,250 ft. The
    greater part of the land is level to undulating. The balance
    has a slightly southerly aspect. About 1,500 acres adjoining
    Flaxy Creek is very fair quality land carrying good feed. The
    balance is lighter quality, and carries light tussock and fern.
    The whole area is well watered, and existing fences are in
    good order.
    ABSTRACT OF CONDITIONS.

  15. Term of lease, twenty-one years from 1st March, 1921.
  16. Applicants must be over twenty-one years of age,
    excepting in the case of discharged-soldier applicants.
  17. One half-year's rent and rent for broken period between
    date of possession and 1st September, 1921, valuation for
    improvements, £1 1s. license fee, and statutory declaration
    to be deposited by successful applicant.
  18. Personal residence is to commence within one year and
    to be continuous thereafter,
