License authorizing the Kaikoura County Council to erect Electric Lines within the Peninsula Riding of the Kaikoura County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of July, 1921.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth—subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, and to the regulations made under section two of the aforesaid Act, and dated the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of the same month, or any regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor (and hereinafter collectively referred to as “the regulations”), and which regulations shall be deemed to be incorporated herein—hereby authorize the Kaikoura County Council (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”) to erect and maintain electric lines for lighting, power, and heating purposes within the area of supply hereinafter described, such electric lines at present proposed to be erected being indicated by means of yellow, green, and black lines on the plan marked P.W.D. 51452, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.


SCHEDULE.

  1. AREA OF SUPPLY.

THE area of supply comprises the Peninsula Riding of the Kaikoura County as at present constituted, as indicated by a distinctive border coloured red on the plan marked P.W.D. 51452, hereinbefore referred to.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (e) of clause 3 of the regulations.

The generating voltage shall be approximately 3,300 volts between the terminals.

  1. DATUM TEMPERATURE.

For the purpose of calculating the stresses as provided in clause 15 of the regulations, the datum temperature shall be taken as 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

  1. CHARGES FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY.

The charge for electrical energy shall not exceed 1s. per unit for lighting purposes, and 6d. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes; provided that “lighting purposes” shall include the operation of motor generators for lighting purposes.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

This license shall, unless sooner determined in accordance with the provisions hereinafter expressed, continue in force for a period of forty-two years from the date hereof. Upon the expiry of the said term, or upon the sooner determination of this license by revocation or otherwise, all rights hereby granted to the licensee shall thereupon cease and determine; but such expiration or determination shall not relieve the licensee of any liability theretofore incurred under this license.

  1. VARIATION IN CONDITIONS OF LICENSE.

The terms and conditions of this license may at any time or from time to time, at the request or with the consent in writing of the licensee, be altered by the Governor-General by Order in Council.

  1. BARE WIRES.

Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained, no bare wires shall be erected unless and until the consent of the Minister has first been obtained in accordance with the regulations.

Portion of Tasman Street, in the City of Nelson, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of July, 1921.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Nelson City Council on the thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one—viz., “That the Nelson City Council, being the local authority having the control of the street in the City of Nelson known as Tasman Street, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that portion of the said street from Manuka Street to Nile Street East”; subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on either side of the portion of Tasman Street described in the Schedule hereto within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of street in the Nelson Land District, City of Nelson, known as Tasman Street, situated between Manuka Street and Nile Street East. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 51752, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

SCHEDULE.

As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 51716, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
