Defining the Middle-line of the Palmerston North Deviation of the Wellington – New Plymouth Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Palmerston North Deviation of the Wellington – New Plymouth Railway (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1920: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain the said railway :
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said railway shall be that defined in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the Wellington – New Plymouth Railway marked 83 miles 55 chains on the present mileage, and proceeding in a north-westerly direction generally for a distance of 6 miles 66 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c. : Parts of Rural Section 10, Karere Block; Lots 1 to 16, Block II, D.P. 2848, R.S. 11, Karere Block; Lots 10 to 13, Block I, D.P. 2848, R.S. 11, Karere Block; Rural Section 12, Karere Block (education reserve); Lots 1 to 4 and 7, Block I, D.P. 2848, R.S. 13 and 14, Karere Block; Lots 19 of R.S. 353, 20 of R.S. 354, and 21 of R.S. 355, Township of Palmerston North; Lot 5, D.P. 1696, Section 1577, Block IX, Kairanga Survey District; Lot 1, D.P. 3519, Section 1574, and Lots 1, 2, and, 3, D.P. 4503, Sections 1573 and 1574, Block X, Kairanga Survey District; Lots 3 to 8 and Lots 12 to 19, S.O. 312/1, Cloverlea Settlement; Sections 1564, 1565, and 1568, Block X, Kairanga Survey District; part R.S. 421, 423, and 424, Township of Palmerston North, Lots 1 to 5, D.P. 1678, R.S. 421, Township of Palmerston North; Lots 1 to 5, D.P. 256, Sections 422 and 424, Township of Palmerston North; Sections 557 and 556, Township of Palmerston North; Lots 1 to 3, part 5, 6 to 13, part 15, D.P. 1781, Sections 527 and 528, other parts of Sections 527 and 528, and Lots 2 to 4, D.P. 2863, Section 527, Township of Palmerston North; part Sections 1534 and 1535, Township of Bunnythorpe; and terminating at a point on the Wellington – New Plymouth Railway marked 91 miles 37 chains, being mileage 6 miles 66 chains on the proposed line: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Wellington. As the same is delineated on the plan marked W.R. 28783, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington.

WHEREAS the Palmerston North Deviation of the Palmerston North – Woodville Branch of the Wellington-Napier Railway (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1920: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain the said railway :

COMMENCING at a point on the proposed Palmerston North Deviation of the Wellington – New Plymouth Railway marked 6 miles 22 chains on the proposed mileage, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction generally for a distance of 2 miles 23 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c. : Lot 13, D.P. 1781, Section 527, Township of Palmerston North; part Sections 1506 and 1535, Township of Bunnythorpe; Lot 5, D.P. 693, Section 420, Town of Palmerston North; Lots 3 and 2, D.P. 693, Section 419, Township of Palmerston North; Lots 66 to 70, Section 418, Lots 60 to 64, Section 417, Lots 6, 7, 8, and 56 to 59, Section 416, Lots 9, 10, 11, 48, and 49, Section 415, and Lots 12, 13, and 47, Section 414, Township of Palmerston North; and terminating at a point on the Wellington-Napier Railway marked 4 miles 42 chains, being mileage 2 miles 23 chains on the proposed line: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Wellington. As the same is delineated on the plan marked W.R. 28783, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways a Wellington.

Crown Land set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures.

A PROCLAMATION

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—CROWN LAND.
SECTION 16, Block I, Rangi Survey District: Area, 77 acres.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of June, 1921.
