interests of owners of Native land into suitable areas to be
prepared and carried into effect the Governor-General may,
by Order in Council, prohibit for a period not exceeding
twelve months any alienation of Native land in respect of
which application has been made by the Native Minister to
the Court for the preparation of such a scheme:

And whereas an application has been made by the Native
Minister to the Native Land Court for the preparation of a
scheme of consolidation of the interests of the owners of the
blocks mentioned in the Schedule hereto into suitable areas:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby prohibit for a period of twelve months
all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule
hereto.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day
of January, 1921.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING
IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Auckland City Council on the thirtieth day
of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty—viz.,
“That the Auckland City Council, having control of Bayfield
Road, Ponsonby, in the City of Auckland, by resolution
declares that the provisions of section one hundred and
seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to
that portion of the said street fronting Lots 12, 13, and 14,
part Allotment 24 of Section 8, Suburbs of Auckland”; such
portion of street being described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of Bayfield Road, situated in the North
Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, fronting Lots 12,
13, and 14, part Allotment 24 of Section 8, Suburbs of Auckland. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 49902, deposited in the
office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

The Southern Side of Portion of Gill Street, in the Borough of New Plymouth, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

of January, 1921.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING
IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the New Plymouth Borough Council on the
fifteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty—viz., “That the New Plymouth Borough Council,
being the local authority having control of the street hereinafter mentioned, hereby resolves and declares that the
provisions of section one hundred and seventeen, subsection
one, of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that
part of the southern side of Gill Street, New Plymouth, to
which subdivisions numbered 1 and 2 of Section 1410, and
subdivisions numbered 1 and 2 of Section 1411, Borough of
New Plymouth, have frontages”; such portion of street
being described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of Gill Street, situated in the Taranaki
Land District, Borough of New Plymouth, abutting on
Subdivisions 1 and 2 of Section 1410 and Subdivisions 1 and
2 of Section 1411. As the said portion of street is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 50313,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured yellow.

The Northern Side of Portion of Edgeware Road, in the City of Christchurch, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Christchurch City Council—viz., “The
Christchurch City Council, having control of Edgeware Road,
St. Albans Ward of the City of Christchurch, hereby declares
that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of
the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that part of
the northern side of Edgeware Road lying between Trafalgar
Street and Dover Street”; such portion of street being
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

THE northern side of all that portion of Edgeware Road, in
the Canterbury Land District, City of Christchurch, situated
between Trafalgar Street and Dover Street. As the said
portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 50035, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day
of January, 1921.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING
IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the New Zealand University Act, 1908,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend
the Second Schedule to the said Act in the manner set forth
in the Schedule hereto; and, with the like advice and consent
doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the
date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand
Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

THE Second Schedule to the New Zealand University Act,
1908, is hereby amended by omitting the word “Westland”
after the word “Nelson” in the second paragraph thereof;
and by deleting from the third paragraph thereof the words
“Provincial District of Canterbury,” and substituting therefor
the words “Provincial Districts of Canterbury and Westland.”
