His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend, in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto, the regulations under the said Act made on the twentieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and gazetted on the twenty-second day of the same month.
SCHEDULE.
Clause 14 of the said regulations is hereby amended by including therein the following section, viz.: Section 143 of the Land Act, 1908.

Approving the Term of the License granted to Quinn’s South Canterbury Brickworks (Limited) for a Tramway across the Main South Road in Block IV, Waimate Survey District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Tramways Act, 1908, and the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the Waimate County Council granting a license for a term of twenty-one years to Quinn’s South Canterbury Brickworks (Limited) authorizing such company to construct and maintain a private tramway across the main South Road at a point opposite Section 16101, Block IV, Waimate Survey District, Canterbury Land District, the point of crossing of the said road being more particularly shown by means of a dotted red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 50470, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

Approving the Wellington Deposit, Mortgage, and Building Association (Limited) to receive Trust Moneys under Section 46 of the Finance Act, 1920.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of January, 1921.

WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to approve the Wellington Deposit, Mortgage, and Building Association (Limited) as an institution for the purpose of section forty-six of the Finance Act, 1920:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said section forty-six, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve the said Wellington, Deposit, Mortgage, and Building Association (Limited) as an institution with which it shall be lawful for a trustee, unless expressly forbidden by the instrument (if any) creating the trust, to invest any trust funds in his hands on deposit at interest for any period not exceeding twelve months.

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £3,200 by the St. Kilda Borough Council for the Renewal of a Loan falling due.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 18th day of January, 1921.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made, under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the St. Kilda Borough Council to borrow the sum of three thousand two hundred pounds for the renewal of a loan falling due, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the sum of three thousand two hundred pounds for the renewal of a loan by the St. Kilda Borough Council, at a rate of interest not exceeding five and one-half pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loan hereby authorized.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 18th day of January, 1921.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made, under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-half pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
