Approving the Transfer of Balances by the Gisborne Borough
Council in terms of Section 45 of the Finance Act, 1920.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of
May, 1921.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by section forty-five of the Finance Act,
1920, it is provided that any local authority within
the meaning of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, may, in
anticipation of its revenue receivable under the General
Account, temporarily transfer to its General Account any
balance of a loan account, or any part thereof, for such
period and on such terms as the Governor-General in Council
may authorize:

And whereas the Gisborne Borough Council has made
application for authority to transfer the sum of five hundred
pounds from the Sewerage and Other Miscellaneous Works
Loan Account, four thousand pounds from the Tramways
Loan Account, one thousand pounds from the Sea Outfall
and Reserves, &c., Account, three thousand pounds from the
Sewerage and Waterworks Account, one thousand pounds
from the Peel Street Bridge and Metalling Loan Account, and
two thousand five hundred pounds from the Te Hapara Loan
Account, to its General Account, and it is expedient to au-
thorize the said transfer:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act,
and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the
transfer of the aforesaid sums to the General Account of the
Gisborne Borough Council for a period ending not later than
the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-two.

Approving the Transfer of Balances by the Taranaki County
Council in terms of Section 45 of the Finance Act, 1920.

tenpence from the Kirihau Road Loan Account, three hun-
dred and forty-four pounds four shillings and fivepence from
the Te Arei Road Loan Account, one hundred and forty-
nine pounds fifteen shillings from the Lower Mangorei Loan
Account, five hundred and ninety-four pounds thirteen shil-
lings from the Plymouth Road Loan Account, and one
hundred and six pounds ten shillings and fourpence from the
Hurford Road Loan Account to its General Account, and
it is expedient to authorize the said transfer:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred upon him by the said
Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby autho-
rize the transfer of the aforesaid sums to the General
Account of the Taranaki County Council for a period ending
not later than the thirty-first day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-two.

Consenting to the raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of
May, 1921.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS application has been made under section
twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919,
for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council
to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the
Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is
expedient that such consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter men-
tioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule
hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans
or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the
lender a return exceeding five and one-half pounds per centum
per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in
Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the
Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent
of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans
hereby authorized.
