THE final general meeting of shareholders in above com-

Dunedin, on the 31st day of May, 1921, at 8 o’clock p.m.,
for the purpose of laying all accounts before them and hearing
Liquidator’s explanation.

NOTICE is hereby given that by entry in its minute-book
dated the 12th day of May, 1921, and signed by all
the shareholders of the above-named company it was resolved
by way of special resolution in terms of subsection (6) of
section 168 of the above-mentioned Act that the company be
wound up voluntarily, and that GEORGE WING COOPER be
appointed Liquidator.

B 36 AND PART SUBDIVISION 3, MANAWATU-KUKUTAUKI
7D, BLOCK XIII, MOUNT ROBINSON, UNDER THE PUBLIC
WORKS ACT, 1908, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING A
PUBLIC ROAD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Horowhenua County
Council, under the provisions of the Public Works
Act, 1908, proposes to execute a certain public work—namely,
a road through the above-named subdivisions—and for the
purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further
given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is de-
posited in the office of the County Clerk for the Horowhenua
County in Oxford Street, Levin, and is there open for in-
spection, and that all persons affected by the taking of the
said land must, if they have any well grounded objections
to the execution of such public work or the taking of such
lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing
within forty days from the first publication of this notice to
the said County Clerk at his said office.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and in the matter
of the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitomo County
Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Acts, to effect certain public works—namely, to
deviate and straighten a road—and for the purpose of such
public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that
a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the
public office of the County Clerk of the said Council situate
in Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti, and is open for inspection, with-
out fee, to all persons during the ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such land, who have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said land, must state their objections
in writing, and send the same within forty days from the
first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the
Council Chambers, Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti.

THE HICKS BAY FARMERS’ MEAT COMPANY
(LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the above-named company held at Te
Araroa on the 9th day of April, 1921, the following special
resolution was passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary
general meeting of the said company held at Te Araroa on
the 30th day of April, 1921, the said resolution was duly
confirmed, namely :—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily under the
provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that CECIL IVES
BRAYNE BECKETT be hereby appointed Liquidator for the
purpose of such winding-up.”

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

THE following resolution was moved by the Mayor, and
seconded by Councillor Irvine, and carried :—

That, in pursuance and in exercise of the power vested in
it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Whaka-
tane Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Whakatane
Borough Council Streets Improvement Loan of £1,000, autho-
rized to be raised by the Whakatane Borough Council under
the above-mentioned Act for the construction of roads, the
said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-
seventh of a penny in the pound sterling on rateable value
