Importation of Certain Documents prohibited.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of May, 1921.
Present:

HIS Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 46 of the Customs Act, 1913, and section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, doth hereby prohibit the importation into New Zealand of the following goods, that is to say: Any document which incites, encourages, advises, or advocates violence, lawlessness, or disorder, or expresses any seditious intention.

Prescribing the Term of Loans to be raised by the Wanganui Borough Council for the Purpose of Extending and Improving the Tramway Service of the Borough.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921, provides that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been authorized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter authorized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, at a specified rate of interest, or for a specified term exceeding ten years, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed at such rate of interest, or for such term not less than ten years, as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council:

And whereas the Wanganui Borough Council has been authorized to borrow certain sums of money for the purpose of extending and improving the tramway service of the borough, of which sums one hundred and twenty thousand pounds has not yet been borrowed, and the Borough Council is unable to obtain the same for the term specified:

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and it is desired that the term for which the said moneys may be borrowed be amended to ten years:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the term for which the said moneys may be borrowed by the Wanganui Borough Council shall be ten years, and the said Wanganui Borough Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said moneys for that term.

The Southern Side of Portion of Bidwell Street, in the City of Wellington, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 10th day of May, 1921.

THE HONOURABLE SIR F. H. D. BELL, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Wellington City Council on the eleventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty—viz., “The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that portion of the southern side of Bidwell Street commencing from the eastern boundary of Town Acre 689, and extending in an easterly direction for a distance of 122·32 links, and being the portion of the said street to which part Town Acre 690, City of Wellington, has a frontage”; subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the southern side of the portion of Bidwell Street described in the Schedule hereto within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of street, situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Bidwell Street, commencing at the eastern boundary of Town Acre 689, and extending in an easterly direction for a distance of 122·32 links, and abutting on part Town Acre 690. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 51482, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

The South-eastern Side of Portion of Livingstone Street, in the City of Auckland, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Auckland City Council on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one—viz., “The Auckland City Council, having control of Livingstone Street in the City of Auckland, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the portion fronting Lots 13 to 22 of Lot 11 of Allotment 2, Section 9, Suburbs of Auckland”; subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the south-eastern side of the portion of Living-stone Street described in the Schedule hereto within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of street situated in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, known as Livingstone Street, abutting on Sections 13 to 22, Lot 11 of Allotment 2 of Section 9, Suburbs of Auckland. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 51319, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
