FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

HALF-MOON ROAD LOAN.—RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Featherston County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect to interest and principal and also other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Featherston County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the formation and metalling of the Half-moon Road, the Featherston County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths (7/16ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable properties within the Half-moon Road Special Rating District, which district comprises all that area within the Martinborough Riding of the Featherston County the boundaries of which special district are herein described,—

Commencing at the north-easternmost corner of Lot 93 of Section 29, Block XIV, Huangarua S.D.; thence in a southerly direction along the Huangarua River to the south-easternmost corner of Lot 96 of Sections 29 and 98; thence westerly generally along the southern boundary of the said Lot 96 to the easternmost corner of Lot 4 of Section 31; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the said Lot 4 of Section 31 to the Awhea Road ; thence along that road to the south-westerly corner of Lot 90 of Section 39 ; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-western boundaries of the said Lot 90 and Lots 91 and 92 to the north-eastern-most corner of the said Lot 92; thence south-easterly along the said Lot 92 to the Mangaura Stream; thence along that stream to Lot 80 of Section 29; thence along the south-western and north-western boundaries of the said Lot 80 to the Pahaoa Road; thence along the said Pahaoa Road to the place of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of February and the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

AKAROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Akaroa Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on an amount of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Akaroa Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of constructing, kerbing, channelling, and surface drainage and the formation, metalling, and asphalt ing of footpaths in the Borough of Akaroa for a distance of 116 chains, and for the purpose of providing the cost of the necessary metal and material for the said work, and for the crushing of the said metal, and for the purpose of erecting sea-walls for a distance of 40 chains along the Esplanade in the said borough, and for beach reclamation at each end of the town, the said Akaroa Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Akaroa; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is paid off.

HICKS BAY FARMERS’ MEAT COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held at Te Araroa on the 9th day of April, 1921, the following special resolution was passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the said company held at Te Araroa on the 30th day of April, 1921, the said resolution was duly confirmed, namely :—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908; and that CECIL IVES BRAYNE BECKETT be hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

THE COWELL AND McCaughan AUTOMATIC TRAIN CONTROL COMPANY (LIMITED).

An extraordinary general meetings of the above-named company duly convened and held respectively on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and the twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the subjoined special resolution was duly passed and confirmed :—

(1.) That the company be wound up voluntarily.

(2.) That Mr. JAMES Mawson STEWART, of Christchurch, Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding up the affairs of the company.

At an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at the office of Messrs. Apsey, White, and Co. (Limited), St. Aubyn Street, Hastings, on Wednesday, the 4th day of May, 1921, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:

“‘That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And at the said meeting ALGERNON I. RAINBOW, of Hastings, Public Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Akitio County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also any other charges connected with raising a loan of £12,000, authorized to be raised by the Akitio County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for reforming, culverting, and metalling Glenora Road, the said Akitio County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-eighth (1⅛d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Glenora Road Special Rating Area, comprising the whole of the said Glenora Road Reforming, Culverting, and Metalling Rating Area, comprised within the following boundaries, viz. : Commencing at the Pacific Ocean, bounded by a line from a point at the north-easternmost corner of Section 27, Block VII, Aohanga S.D., on the estuary of the Akitio River, in a westerly direction by the line of the northern boundary of the said section, following along the southern boundaries of Lots 15, 14, and 13, Blocks III and V, Waimata S.D., to the south-westernmost corner of the said Lot 13; thence in a southerly direction to the most southernmost corner of Section 177, Blocks III and V, Waimata S.D.; thence by the continuation of the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 177 to and by the southern boundaries of Lots 23/26, Block V, Waimata S.D.; thence by the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of Section 181, the southern and western boundaries of Section 106, Block IV, Aohanga S.D.; thence by the southern boundary of Lot 108, and by the western boundaries of Lots 108 and 107, to and by the western boundaries of Lots 101 and 100, Block XI, Mount Cerberus S.D.; thence in a westerly direction to and by the north shore of the Akitio River through Section 190, to and along the western boundary of Section 191, Block VII, Mount Cerberus, to and by the eastern shore of the Akitio River in a northerly direction, to and along the northern boundaries of the said Section 191,
