amendments thereof, and of all other Acts and powers in that
behalf enabling, and with the written consent of the rate-
payers in the Hungahunga Special Rating Area hereinafter
described, testified by a petition signed by not less than
three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said rating area the
capital value of whose properties as appearing on the valuation
roll of the district is collectively greater than the capital
value of the properties of those ratepayers who did not so
consent to the raising of the loan, the Hungahunga Drainage
Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—
For the purpose of constructing new drainage-works—viz.,
to widen and deepen existing watercourses, drains, and out-
falls, and to make and construct new drains and outfalls,
within the area hereinafter described—the Hungahunga
Drainage Board hereby authorizes the raising of a loan of
£1,000 from the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances
Office Superintendent, at four pounds ten shillings per centum
per annum, for a period of thirty-six and a half years, and
declares that the cost of raising the said loan and of the first
year’s interest and sinking fund during the construction of
the work be paid thereout.
Special Rating Area (Piraunui).
All that area of land within the Hungahunga Drainage
District comprising parts of Blocks I, V, and VI, Wairere
Survey District—viz., Block I: Section 8, Section 9, Section
10, Sections 11 and 12, Section 13, Section 14, Section 15,
Section 16, Section 17, Section 18. Block V: Section 1,
Section 2, Sections 3 and 4, Section 5, Section 8. Block VI:
N/pt. of Section 6, S/pt. of Section 6, Section 1, pt. Section 2,
Section 3, Section 7, Section N/pt. 9, Section 8, Section S/pt.
9, Lot 1, W/pt. of 6, Lot 2, W/pt. of 6.

PATEA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Patea Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the
Patea Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for
the erection of a dam, pipe-line, water-race, and settling-
tank, additions and extensions to the water and drainage
system, and all necessary plant and material to obtain ad-
ditional water for generating electricity as a motive power
for pumping, the said Patea Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of sixpence halfpenny in the pound
upon the rateable property within the Borough of Patea,
comprising the whose borough; and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of July in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Piako
County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Piako County
Council Hungahunga Roads Loan of £36,000, authorized to
be raised by the said Council, under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of purchasing road-making machinery
for and metalling roads in the Hungahunga Roads Special
Rating Area of the County of Piako, the said Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of fourpence (4d.) in the
pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Hungahunga
Roads Special Rating Area, such special rating area com-
prising—
All that land contained in the area commencing at a point
on the Waihou River being the centre of the eastern boundary
of Section 15, Block VII, Wairere Survey District; thence
following the course of the river in a southerly direction to
the county boundary; thence following the county boundary
in a westerly direction to the south-west corner of “Tara-
moarahi” No. 1, Block XIII, Wairere Survey District; thence
in a north-westerly direction following the western
boundary-lines of the said Taramoarahi No. 1, Whakataka-
taka, and Taramoarahi No. 2 to the north-west corner of the
latter section; thence nearly due west along the southern
boundary of Section 9, Hungahunga No. 1, to the south-west
corner; thence due north along the western boundaries of
Sections 9, 8, and 7, Hungahunga No. 1; thence along the
northern boundary of the said Section 7 due west for a dis-
tance of about 40 chains to the boundary between west part
of 6 and south part of 6, Hungahunga No. 1; thence along
the western and northern boundaries of the said section south
part of 6 to the Alexandra Road; thence in an easterly direc-
tion following a straight line parallel to the Diagonal Road
and distant about 20 chains through Sections 1 and 2 Hunga-
hunga No. 1, Section 1 Hungahunga Nos. 1/4, Section
Hungahunga No. 4A, and Section 9, Block VI, Wairere, to
the Stanley Road; thence in a line parallel to the southern
boundary of Sections 13 and 15, through these sections, Block
VI, Wairere, to the point of commencement.
And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the first day of June in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-
half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £460.—RATANA
NO. 2 SPECIAL RATING DISTRICT.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in
respect of principal and interest and also the other charges
on a loan of £460, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei
County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
for the purpose of metalling for the first time the Ratana
Road from the point where it crosses the railway-line in a
westerly direction for a distance of about 78 chains, and the
cost of raising the loan to be paid out of the loan, the said
Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of thirteen-sixteenths of a penny (13/16d.) in the pound
sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital
value) of all rateable property of the Ratana No. 2 Special
Rating District, comprising the following subdivisions of the
Waipu Block in Block XIV, Ikitara Survey District :—

As the said special rating district is more particularly shown
upon the map attached to the ratepayers’ consent to the said
loan and thereon bordered red. And that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of May
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of thirty-six years and a half (36½ years), or
until the loan is fully paid off.
