said Dominion, approves the foregoing regulations.

Amendments and Additions to the Regulations under the Public
Service Act, 1912.
[I]N pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred on him by
the Public Service Act, 1912 (hereinafter called “the said Act”),
the Commissioner, with the approval of the Governor-General in
Council, doth hereby, in respect of the additional regulations (apply-
ing to officers or other persons employed as workmen in the Public
Works Department) published in the New Zealand Gazette on the
eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and
the amendments thereof made from time to time under the provisions
of the said Act, make the amendments shown in the Schedule hereto.
Such amendments shall have effect on and from the date of publi-
cation thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATION 25 is hereby revoked, and the following substituted-in
lieu thereof:
25. Every workman, whether permanent or temporary, may be
granted by the Permanent Head leave of absence on the following
scale:
(a.) When he has served for two years or upwards, fourteen days’
annual leave, and, in addition, nine statutory holidays
during the year:
(b.) When he has served for over two months but less than two
years, no annual leave, but seven statutory holidays during
the year:
(c.) When he has served for less than two months, no annual leave
or statutory holidays.
Regulation 28 is hereby revoked, and the following substituted in
lieu thereof:
28. Sick-leave up to one month may be granted by the Permanent
Head on full pay, but a report of all leave granted under this regula-
tion shall be submitted every two months to the Commissioner.
Regulation 30 is hereby revoked, and the following substituted in
lieu thereof:
30. Where sick-leave for more than one month is applied for, the
application must be referred to the Commissioner.
Regulation 31 is hereby revoked, and the following substituted in
lieu thereof:
31. Where in case of illness any workman who has received leave
of absence for one month is not so far recovered as to be able to
resume his duties, further extensions of leave may be granted by the
Commissioner in accordance with the following Schedule, provided
that on each such extension of leave the applicant shall be subjected
to an examination by a medical practitioner approved by the Com-
missioner.

In exceptional cases the Commissioner may take any special cir-
cumstances into consideration, and may vary the scale of payments.
Regulation 37 is hereby revoked, and the following substituted in
lieu thereof:
37. A temporary workman, when absent from duty on account of
sickness or ill health, other than as the result of an injury sustained
