Section 3s contains about 20 acres flat, remainder undulating and easy hills of good quality carrying a good sole of grass.
Section 4s contains 20 acres of good flats, remainder easy undulating country with broad spurs. The section is clean, carries a good sole of grass, and is in splendid heart.
Section 5s is the homestead section, and has about 30 acres of flat, balance easy to steep hilly country. There are about 75 acres of mixed bush. Remainder is felled and grassed. There is a little fern in places.
NOTE.—Areas are subject to slight alteration.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION.
This settlement is situated close to the Town of Ohura, and about twenty-eight miles from the North Island Main Trunk Railway at Ongarue, and a little less from Okahukura, which is about seven miles north of Taumarunui. It is anticipated that the Stratford-Okahukura Railway line which runs through the property will reach it from Okahukura in two or three years. The land is good grass land, well sown down with a mixture of English grasses, and the carrying-capacity is about 1½ sheep per acre or the equivalent in cattle. The fences are generally sheep-proof in fair order, but some need repair. The formation is mixed volcanic clay and papa rubble, on papa. The land varies from undulating to hilly, with small flats in places, and lies at altitudes above sea-level varying from 400 ft. on the flats to 1,000 ft. on the ridges. A few dairy cows could be run if required on the land. Half the common boundary fences are reckoned in with the value of the sections. The main Ohura Road is metalled for about two miles and a half from the Township of Ohura, and the rest are dirt roads. The Kopuha Road is unformed.

These sections are situated from about two to six miles south of Gumtown, in the upper reaches of the Whitianga Harbour, on the east of the Coromandel Peninsula.
There is a direct steamer service from Auckland to Mercury Bay, the nearest port of call, the trip occupying about eight hours. Access is thence by launch. Most of the sections have access by good bridle-tracks ; but provision has been made for the construction of necessary formed access.
Section 4, Block IV, Sections 5 and 6, Block VII, Whitianga, and Sections 2 and 3, Block IX, Hastings Survey Districts, contain proportions of mixed bush and fern and scrub land. Sections 7, 9, and 10, Block VII, Whitianga Survey District, comprise open land covered with fern and scrub. Section 3, Block XIII, Hastings Survey District, is practically all bush, mostly tawa, also a little kauri, rimu, and matai, with a heavy undergrowth of tree fern and supplejack.
The country is generally hilly and broken, the altitude ranging from 250 ft. to 1,800 ft. above sea-level.
The soil varies from poor to medium quality, and the land when cleared should prove suitable for sheep and cattle-grazing purposes.
All sections are well watered by permanent streams.
Plans and full particulars may be obtained from the undersigned.

Commissioner of Crown Lands.
