At an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at Patea on the 14th day of January, 1921, the following special resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at Patea on the 11th day of February, 1921, the following resolution was duly confirmed, viz.:

“That the company be wound up voluntarily; and Mr. W. F. SHIELD, of Patea, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

Notice is hereby given that a general meeting of the shareholders of Lloyds Limited (in Liquidation) will be held at Virginia Road, Wanganui, on the 15th day of March, 1921, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of laying before shareholders the Liquidator’s accounts showing the manner in which the winding-up of the company has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and to offer any explanation the Liquidator may wish to give, and for the purpose of passing an extraordinary resolution as to the disposal of the books, accounts, and documents of the company, as required by the Companies Act, 1908.

STRATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Stratford Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund, or the instalments in respect of principal and interest, and also the other charges on a loan of one hundred and twenty-nine thousand five hundred pounds (£129,500), to be called “The Stratford Borough General Purposes Loan of £129,500, 1920,” authorized to be raised by the Stratford Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes:—

(a.) To construct of concrete and other necessary materials a bridge on Broadway, across the Patea River, of the full width of the street:

(b.) To extend and improve the borough drainage system, and in connection therewith to acquire lands, rights, easements, advantages, and appurtenances, and to provide all buildings, structures, engines, machinery, septic tanks, sewers, drainpipes, and other things necessary for the good and efficient drainage of the borough; to pay compensation for any lands taken or injuriously affected; and for any other purposes incidental to or in relation to any of the foregoing purposes:

(c.) To make advances in connection with the execution of drainage and sanitary works on private properties, to be repaid by the owners thereof:

(d.) To provide additions to and extensions and improvements of the waterworks, and in connection therewith to acquire lands, rights, easements, advantages, and appurtenances, and to provide buildings, structures, engines, machinery, settling tanks, screens, filters, water-pipes, and other things; to pay compensation for any lands taken or injuriously affected; and for any other purposes incidental to or in relation to any of the foregoing purposes:

(e.) To improve the streets and footways of the borough by forming, constructing, grading, metalling, or tar-sealing the same, or by paving the same with concrete, tar macadam, or some other permanent material, or by kerbing and channelling the same, or by otherwise generally improving the same; and incidental thereto to purchase necessary machinery and plant:

(f.) To provide and erect a public weighbridge or weighing-machine within the borough:

(g.) To provide for the preservation of the public health and convenience by the provision and erection within the borough of public water-closets and urinals, and other public conveniences and sanitary works:

(h.) To effect all or any of the following improvements on the Stratford Domain, as described in the Schedule to the Order in Council published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 27th day of May, 1920, whereby the Stratford Borough Council was appointed to be the Stratford Domain Board, having control of the said Stratford Domain—namely, to establish, lay out, make, and provide in the said Stratford Domain botanical and zoological gardens, plantations of trees, shrubs, and flowers, lawns, bowling-greens, tennis-courts, cricket and football grounds, athletic and sports grounds, and cycling-tracks; to lay off, form, and construct therein roadways, pathways, and bridges; to erect thereon pavilions, dressing-rooms, tea-rooms, a band ro-tunda, public conveniences, bathing-sheds, conservatories and hot-houses, buildings and enclosures for housing animals and birds, a caretaker’s dwellinghouse, tool-sheds, and all
