Urban Areas.
FOR the purposes of population statistics, vital statistics, &c., metropolitan areas were delineated in 1916 at each of the four chief centres, and suburban areas at nine of the secondary centres. The names “metropolitan area” and “suburban area” are now replaced by the uniform title of “urban area.”
As a result of the Census of 1921 (17th April), it has been found necessary to create urban areas at Hamilton and Hastings. Maps showing the boundaries of the areas are published herewith for general information.
