Altering Boundaries of Makerua Drainage District, Counties
of Horowhenua and Kairanga.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of October, 1920.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Makerua Drainage Board has, in accordance with the provisions of section six of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1913 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General praying that the area described in the First Schedule hereto may be included in the Makerua Drainage District: And whereas no objections have been received to the proposal:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by section six of the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that as on and from the date hereof the boundaries of the said district are hereby altered so as to include in the said district the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and that the boundaries of the said district shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREAS TO BE ADDED TO MAKERUA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the west and north-west by the Manawatu River; towards the north-east by the road forming the eastern boundaries of Section 161, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and Section 157, Block I, Arawaru Survey District; and towards the south-east by the Makerua Drainage District as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1909, page 1888.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north-west by the Manawatu River; towards the north-east by the Makerua Drainage District, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1909, page 1888; towards the south-east by the Wellington-Manawatu Railway line; and towards the south-west by the Borough of Shannon to the road through Section 649, Town of Shannon, and by that road and the Shannon-Foxton Road to the Manawatu River.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

MAKERUA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 161, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and proceeding thence along the road forming the eastern boundary of the said section, the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 157, the eastern boundaries of Sections 15, 17, and 18, to the Wellington-Manawatu Railway line, and south-westerly along the said railway-line to the Township of Tokomaru, and along the north-eastern, north-western, and south-western boundaries of said township to and along the aforesaid railway-line to the westernmost corner of Section 2, Block VIII, Mount Robinson Survey District; thence along the south-western boundary of that section and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 3, 4, and 5, Block VIII aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along a right line to a point on the south-western boundary of Section 6, distant 20 chains from its westernmost corner, along a right line to a point on the north-western boundary of Section 7, distant 20 chains from its northernmost corner, and along the railway reserve to the northernmost corner of Section 2, Block XII, Mount Robinson Survey District, and along the north-eastern boundary of that section for a distance of 10 chains; thence along right lines parallel to and 10 chains distant from the railway reserve to Kingston Road, and along that road to the railway reserve; thence along the said railway reserve to the Borough of Shannon, and along the northern boundary of the said borough as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1918, page 459, to the road through Section 649, Town of Shannon; thence along that road and the Shannon-Foxton Road to the Manawatu River; thence up the Manawatu River to the north-eastern corner of Section 161, the point of commencement.

Authorizing the Kaikoura County Council to erect a Monument in Beach Road, Kaikoura, as a Permanent War Memorial.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of October, 1920.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section fifteen of the Finance Act, 1919, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve the provision by the Kaikoura County Council of a monument as a permanent memorial of the war with Germany; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby approve of the erection of such monument on that portion of Beach Road, Kaikoura, described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, in the Town of Kaikoura, containing by estimation 3 roods, more or less, and being that portion of the Beach Road from the mouth of Lyell Creek to a point seven chains south thereof, bounded by the sea-coast and a line parallel to and distant one chain from frontage of Section 410, Takahanga Recreation Reserve.
