Appointing a Member of the Thames Harbour Board.

ROBERT STOUT.
Administrator of the Government.

WHEREAS it is provided by the eleventh section of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that if any constituent district or combined district fails at any election to elect the required number of representatives, the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint such qualified persons as he thinks fit to be the representatives of that district in lieu of those who ought to have been elected, and the persons so appointed shall hold office in all respects as if they had been duly elected in conformity with the said Act: And whereas one member of the Thames Harbour Board should have been elected by the electors of the County of Piako: And whereas the electors of the County of Piako have failed to elect the said member:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint

HENRY OSWALD COOPER

to be a member of the Thames Harbour Board as a representative of the electors of the County of Piako, to fill the vacancy caused by the before-mentioned failure to elect.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this 19th day of July, 1920.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Robert Stout, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
