NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of sections 230 and 231 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of the Liquidator, No. 44 Maria Place, Wanganui, on Monday, 28th June, 1920, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

NOTICE is hereby given that resolutions have been passed at a general meeting of shareholders held in London changing the name of New Zealand Mines Trust (1905) Limited, to N.Z.M.T. Agency and Trustee Company (Limited), and increasing the capital to £25,000.

The registered office of N.Z.M.T. Agency and Trustee Company (Limited) is at 60 Shortland Street, Auckland.

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

TAKE notice that the Masterton Borough Council intends to take, under the powers on it conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and for the purpose of the local public work hereinafter mentioned, all that parcel of land situate in the Borough of Masterton containing four (4) acres and five (5) perches, or thereabouts, the property of Mrs. Emily Catherine Winteringham, and bounded towards the north-east by the Maka-kaka-weka Stream, towards the north-west by the Wellington-Napier Railway, towards the west by other property of Mrs. Winteringham, and towards the south-east by subdivisional sections fronting on Pownall Street, and being part of Ngaumutawa Block, Block IV, Tiffin Survey District, a plan of which parcel of land is open for public inspection (without fee) at the office of the Masterton Borough Council, Chapel Street, Masterton, during ordinary office hours, in which plan the said parcel of land is coloured red in outline.

And take notice that the Masterton Borough Council intends to execute upon the said parcel of land the following local public work—viz., the extension and enlargement of the Council’s gasworks, and the erection of buildings and plant necessary for that purpose, and incidental.

All persons affected by the foregoing are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land or the execution of such work, and to send such writing, within forty (40) days from the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty (being the date of the first publication of this notice), to the Masterton Borough Council, Chapel Street, Masterton.

EYRE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and in pursuance of section 3 of the Lake Coleridge Water-power Act, 1915, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Eyre County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of three thousand pounds (£3,000), authorized to be raised by the Eyre County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of supplying electricity within the Eyre Riding of the said county, the said Eyre County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-seventeenth (1/17th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Eyre Riding of the said county; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Johnsonville Town Board resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing instalments in respect of principal and interest on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Johnsonville Town Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purchasing of land in Johnsonville and erecting waterworks thereon, the said Johnsonville Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Johnsonville Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 30th day of May and the 30th day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
