Amendment of the Regulations under the Public Service Act, 1912.

IN pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred on him by the Public Service Act, 1912 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), the Commissioner, with the approval of the Governor-General in Council, doth hereby further amend clause two hundred and nine of the regulations under the said Act, as made on the seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the Gazette of the eleventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and as amended by notice published in the Gazette of the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and the eleventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto. Such amendment shall have effect on the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

REGULATION No. 209 is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:—

“(5.) An officer of the Seventh Class of the Clerical Division who is in receipt of a salary of not more than £140 per annum shall be deemed to be performing the duties of a position of a higher class or grade than that in which he is classified, if he performs the duties ordinarily performed by an officer of the same class who is in receipt of a salary of not less than £200 per annum, and may be granted, on the approval of the Commissioner, and subject to the preceding paragraphs of this regulation, payment in addition to salary at a rate of not more than £25 per annum.”
