And whereas it is deemed advisable to declare the said Geraldine County Council to be the River Board in respect of the said river district:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and eighteen of the said Act, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the Geraldine County Council to be the River Board of the said river district; and that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the tenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Justice of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Additional Land in Drury Survey District taken for the Purposes of the Waiuku Branch of the North Island Main Trunk Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, or enjoyment of the Waiuku Branch of the North Island Main Trunk Railway to take further land in Drury Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired, for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 10·88 perches. Portion of Allotment 21, Puni Parish, Block X, Drury Survey District. (S.O. 20749.)

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 48382, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured neutral.

Declaring Land taken for a Public Work, and not required for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor-General may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein mentioned:

And whereas it is further provided by section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government work and not required for that purpose the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon the land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was taken for the purposes of a road: And whereas such road has been stopped, and it is desirable to declare the land contained therein to be Crown land:

And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor-General to declare such land to be Crown land:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and that such land may be administered and disposed of under that Act accordingly.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway from Athenree to Wairoa River—namely, the Katikati Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway, namely, from the end of the authorized line at Athenree to the end of the authorized line at Wairoa River (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1915: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
