NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders will be received at this office up to 4 p.m. on Friday, 25th June, 1920, for a lease for fourteen years of the under-mentioned reserve, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FRANKLIN COUNTY.—OPAHEKE PARISH.

CEMETERY Reserve, Lot 42 of Section 2: Area, 3 acres 3 roods 12 perches; minimum annual rental, £1.

CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. Lease to be for grazing purpose only, and subject to resumption at three months’ notice.

  2. The lessee shall have no right to compensation either for improvements put on the land or on account of the aforesaid resumption, or for any other cause; but he may on the expiration or sooner determination of the lease remove all buildings or fences erected by him, but not otherwise.

  3. The lessee shall not sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of his interest in the lease without the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  4. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of all noxious weeds on the land, and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause to be removed, all noxious weeds or plants as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  5. The lessee shall discharge all rates, taxes, charges, and other assessments that may become due and payable.

  6. Rental payments in arrear for two calendar months shall render the lease liable to termination; or a breach of covenant in the lease, expressed or implied, shall entitle the Crown to re-enter and determine the lease.

  7. Tenders to be addressed “Commissioner of Crown Lands, P.O. Box 10, Auckland,” and to be marked on the outside, “Tender for Lease.” One year’s rent at rate tendered, plus one guinea lease fee, to be forwarded with tender.

  8. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Land in the Auckland Land District for Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers.

District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for sale or lease under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and the regulations thereunder; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 26th July, 1920.

The lands may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or selected on lease for sixty-six years, with right of renewal for further successive terms of sixty-six years and a right to acquire the freehold.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 28th July, 1920, at 10 o’clock a.m.

The ballot will be held at the conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Opotiki County.—Waiotahi Parish.

SECTION 432: Area, 320 acres 1 rood 25 perches; capital value, £800; instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £40; half-yearly rent on lease, £18.

The section is distant about twelve miles from Opotiki by good formed road. The land is broken to undulating, covered with heavy mixed forest, and well watered by streams. There is a good homestead-site close to the road.

West Taupo County.—Wharepapa Survey District.

Section 3, Block XV: Area, 288 acres; capital value, £500; instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £25; half-yearly rent on lease, £11 5s.

Weighted with £160, value for improvements comprising a small whare and 45 acres of felled bush which has been burned and grassed.

The section is about thirty-five miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station, and comprises moderately broken to undulating land well watered by streams. The soil is a light volcanic loam of fair quality on volcanic formation. There are sufficient totara trees on the section for fencing purposes.

Ohinemuri County.

The sections are situated from two miles to three miles and a half by dray-road from Kaihere Post-office, and have access also to the Kaihere-Waitakaruru Road. They comprise level and undulating land of fair to good quality; all except Sections 37, 40/41, contain some swamp land mostly of good quality and carrying raupo and flax. There is rough feed on portions of the land.

The sections are situated from two miles to three miles and a half from Waitakaruru Landing by road along the Waitakaruru Canal, the greater part of which has been partly formed by spoil from the canal, and arrangements are being made to carry on the work during the coming season. Sections 33, 35, and 37 have also access by the Pouarua Road. The sections comprise swamp land, generally good quality, and carrying rushes, tea-tree, and flax, with a certain amount of rough feed on most of the sections.
