WAIA TARUA DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL DIFFERENTIAL RATES.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by section 40 of the Land Drainage Act,
1908, and the amendments thereof, and by the Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1913, the Waiatarua Drainage Board hereby
resolves by way of special order as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund,
and other charges on the loan of three thousand five hundred
pounds (£3,500), authorized to be raised by the Waiatarua
Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the
purpose of paying the liabilities incurred by the said Board
in repairing the damage done to the drainage-works under
the control of the said Board, including in such liabilities
the amount obtained from the Board’s bankers by way of
overdraft, the said Waiatarua Drainage Board hereby makes
and levies the special differential rate of threepence in the
pound sterling on all lands classified “ A ” in the said dis-
trict, the special differential rate of one penny in the pound
sterling on all lands classified “ B ” in the said district, and
the special differential rate of one halfpenny in the pound
sterling on all lands classified “ C ” in the said district, such
special differential rates being levied on the capital value of
the respective lands so classified as aforesaid ; and that such
special differential rates shall be annually recurring rates
during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly
on the first day of August in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-
half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

COLLINGWOOD COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the
Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit,
for the purposes of a road. A copy of the plan of the land
is deposited at the county office in Collingwood, and may
be inspected there at any time during office hours.
Any person affected is required to set forth in writing any
well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or
to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within
forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Collingwood County Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land containing 2 acres 2 roods 20 perches
in Sections 22, 24, and 99 in Block X, Pakawau Survey
District, coloured red on the said plan, being the land at
Ferntown formerly used by the Parapara Iron Company as
a tramway.

In the matter of the Christchurch Tramway District Act,
1906.

JOHN BARR, of Redcliffs, in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, in the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby solemnly and sincerely declare :—

  1. That I am the Chairman of the Christchurch Tramway
    Board.
  2. That on 6th October, 1919, the Christchurch Tramway
    Board made the following special order, which was duly con-
    firmed on 3rd November, 1919 :—
    In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 55
    of the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1906, and of
    all other powers thereto enabling it, the Christchurch
    Tramway Board resolves, by way of special order, as
    follows :—
    The keeping of the separate account mentioned and
    ordered to be kept by section 54 of the Christchurch
    Tramway District Act, 1906—viz., the account for the
    Riccarton-Sockburn Loan District—shall be discontinued,
    and the accounts of that loan district shall thenceforth
    be included both as to capital and income in and in the
    same manner in all respects as the accounts of the other
    portions of the said district other than the St. Martins
    Special Rating Area, subject to the approval of the rate-
    payers of the said loan district, such approval to be
    ascertained in the manner provided in section 55 of the
    Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1906.
  3. That a poll of the ratepayers of the Riccarton-Sockburn
    Loan Area was held on Monday, 15th December, 1919, and
    that the result of the voting was : For the above proposal,
    203 ; against the above proposal, 110. And I declare that
    the said proposal was carried.
    And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believ-
    ing the same to be true, and under and by virtue of an Act
    of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Justices
    of the Peace Act, 1908.
