Amending Notice under Animals Protection Act.—Hobson Acclimatization District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend, in manner herein-after provided, the notification made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the ninth day of the same month, declaring a shooting season for imported and native game in the Hobson Acclimatization District:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby substitute the first day of May in lieu of the first day of June appearing in the Warrant of the third day of April, which said Warrant is hereby amended accordingly.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend, in manner herein-after provided, the notification made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the ninth day of the same month, declaring a shooting season for imported and native game in the Nelson Acclimatization District:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby substitute the thirty-first day of July in lieu of the thirtieth day of June appearing in the Warrant of the third day of April, which said Warrant is amended accordingly.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend, in manner herein-after provided, the notification made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the ninth day of the same month, declaring a shooting season for imported and native game in the South Canterbury Acclimatization District:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby substitute the thirty-first day of July in lieu of the fourteenth day of May wherever it appears in the Warrant of the third day of April, which said Warrant is hereby amended accordingly.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Amending Notice under Animals Protection Act.—Waitaki Acclimatization District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend, in manner herein-after provided, the notification made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the ninth day of the same month, declaring a shooting season for native game in the Waitaki Acclimatization District:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby substitute the thirty-first day of July in lieu of the thirty-first day of May appearing in the Warrant of the third day of April, which said Warrant is hereby amended accordingly.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XIII, Taramarama Survey District, Wairoa County, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block XIII, Taramarama Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Frasertown, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

Notice to Mariners.—No. 20 of 1920.

GODLEY HEAD FOG-SIGNAL.—WORKING UNRELIABLE.

Wellington, N.Z., 1st May, 1920.

MARINERS are hereby warned that, owing to the dangerous nature of the track leading down to the fog-signal on Godley Head, at the entrance to Lyttelton Harbour, they should not rely on the signal operating in thick or foggy weather. The question of removing the signal to a safer position is under consideration.

Notice to Mariners.—No. 21 of 1920.

MINE WARNING.

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 1st May, 1920.

MASTERS of oversea vessels are hereby warned that a small percentage of drifting mines are known to exist in a water-logged condition, a fraction of which may be dangerous. This type of mine is hard to see, and special precautions are therefore necessary to ensure that a good lookout is kept.

The striking of low floating flotsam should be avoided.
