Change of Name.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 16th December, 1919.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the restriction imposed by section 42 of the Military Service Act, 1916, upon reservists under that Act who desire to change their names has been removed.

This will not affect the position of alien enemies under the War Regulations, who will still require to obtain the consent of the Minister of Internal Affairs, as required by clause 8 of the War Regulations of 17th December, 1914.

Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on Feilding, Masterton, and Palmerston North Fire Boards by Fire-insurance Companies.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, Francis Henry Dillon Bell, for and on behalf of John Bird Hine, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Friday, the 30th January, 1920, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Feilding, Masterton, and Palmerston North Fire Boards by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. A. C. Blair.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in terms of section 48 of the Land Act, 1908, approved of meetings of the North Auckland Land Board being held at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Thursday, 22nd January, Wednesday, 18th February, 17th March, 14th April, 12th May, 9th June, 7th July, 4th August, 1st September, 29th September, 27th October, 24th November, and 15th December, 1920.

Notice of Intention to take Land for Road Purposes in Blocks IX and XIV, Oparara Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of roads in Blocks IX and XIV, Oparara Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Karamea, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a post-office in Block IX, Huiroa Survey District: and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Tariki, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Ruatahuna, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
