Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twelfth day of
April, 1920.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase
Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the
power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this
Order in Council, all alienation of the Native lands specified
in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of
the Crown.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Otago Land District
for Selection by Discharged Soldiers on Renewable Lease.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
declare that the national endowment land described in
the Schedule hereto, which has been set apart for selection
by discharged soldiers, shall be open for selection by dis-charged soldiers on renewable lease on Monday, the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty,
at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also
declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject
to the provisions of the said Act and the Discharged Soldiers
Settlement Act, 1915.

Weighted with valuation for fencing as follows : Section 66, £13 12s.; Section 67, £16 ; Section 68, £42 18s. ; Section 16, £14 12s. 6d. ; Section 17, £9 4s. 6d. ; Section 19, £6 15s. ; Section 20, £30 7s.
The sections are subdivisions of the Moutere Runs, and
are situated one to four miles from Chatto Creek Railway-station and Post-office. The soil is a light loam, on a shingle subsoil. Each section, except Section 18, Block VII, has a frontage to Alexandra-Dunedin main road. They are commanded by the new Government irrigation race.
SPECIAL CONDITION.
The right is reserved to construct water-races and to take water through any section without payment of compensation.

Arrangements for First Election, &c., New County of Hauraki Plains.

WELLINGTON, 8th April, 1920.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to appoint
ERNEST LESLIE WALTON, Esq.,
to be the person to prepare the electors roll for all ridings
in the County of Hauraki Plains as constituted by the Hauraki Plains, Thames, Ohinemuri, and Piako Counties Act, 1919 ; also to be Returning Officer to conduct the first election of members of the Council of the said county, and to be the Clerk of the Council of the said county for the purpose of presiding at the first meeting thereof.

Arrangements for First Election, &c., Waipa Drainage District.

WELLINGTON, 10th April, 1920.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to appoint
FREDERICK OLIVER REUBEN PHILLIPS, Esq., of Otorohanga,
as Returning Officer and person to prepare the roll of electors in connection with the first election of the Board of Trustees of the Waipa Drainage District recently constituted under the Land Drainage Act, 1908 ; also to appoint Friday, the 30th day of April, 1920, as the date, and the Town Hall, Otorohanga, as the place, at which such first election shall be held ; and to appoint Tuesday, the 4th day of May, 1920, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, as the time, and the office of Mr. Phillips, Solicitor, Otorohanga, as the place, at which the first meeting of the Board so elected shall be held.
