Notification of Vacancy in the House of Representatives for
the Stratford Electoral District.
Wellington, 6th April, 1920.
WHEREAS the Court for the trial of an election
petition under the provisions of the Legislature
Act, 1908, has determined that Robert Masters was not
duly elected as a member of the House of Representatives
for the Electoral District of Stratford at the last general
election of members of that House, and that the election
for that electoral district was void: And whereas the said
Court has, on the 27th day of March, 1920, certified such
determination in accordance with law: And whereas the
vacancy so created has occurred at a time when there is no
Speaker of the House of Representatives:
His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand
therefore directs it to be notified in the Gazette, and it is
hereby notified accordingly, in pursuance of section 100 of
the Legislature Act, 1908, that a vacancy exists in the seat
of the member of the House of Representatives for the
Electoral District of Stratford, and that the cause of such
vacancy is the determination and declaration of the said
Court as hereinbefore recited.
