Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Christchurch, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of that part of Sydenham Ward of the City of Christchurch named “Opawa Park Special Rating Area” taken on the 5th day of March, 1920, on the proposal of the Christchurch City Council to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the purchase of land in Sydenham Ward for use as a pleasure-ground for the benefit of the inhabitants of that part of Sydenham Ward of the City of Christchurch named by resolution of the Christchurch City Council “Opawa Park Special Rating Area,” the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 135, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 53. And I declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Waitotara, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Waitotara was taken on the 18th day of February, 1920, on the proposal of the Waitotara County Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for formation, widening, and metalling roads, and erecting bridges, throughout the county. The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 147, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 23. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Papakura Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD.

Special Loan of £28,000 for Provision of a Water-supply.

NOTICE is hereby given that a poll was taken by the Papakura Town Board on the 21st day of February, 1920, upon the proposal of the Papakura Town Board to raise a special loan of £28,000 to provide a water-supply from the Hunua Stream for the Papakura Town District, including the purchase of all necessary land, easements, and other rights, the erection of dams and reservoirs, the laying of mains and pipes, and the provision of all other things necessary in connection with such water-supply, and that the result of the poll was as follows: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 129; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 53.

I accordingly declare the said proposal to be carried.

GREEN ISLAND BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Green Island taken on the 10th day of March, 1920, on the proposal of the Green Island Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,600 for the purchase and improvements of a recreation-ground, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 122, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 79; informal, 1. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the whole of the County of Otamatea was taken on the 26th day of February, 1920, on the proposal of the Otamatea County Council to borrow the sum of £10,000 to provide the county with three motor-tractors, two stone-crushing plants complete, ploughs, scarifiers, graders, binns, hoppers, and sheds, necessary for the metalling and general improvement of the roads throughout the Otamatea County with hard durable metal. The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 318, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 79. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Raglan, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Haraepe-Te Rore Special Rating District.—Loan of £500 for completing the Metalling of the Haraepe-Te Rore Road.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Haraepe-Te Rore Special Rating District of the Raglan County taken on the 6th day of March, 1920, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £500 for completing the metalling of the Haraepe-Te Rore Road: Total number of valid votes recorded, 37; for the proposal, 32; against the proposal, 5. The total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.
