That the portion of the said land adjoining Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 1, and lying between the Taringamutu and Pungapunga Streams, and containing about 5,000 acres, be sold to Christopher James Somerville, of Taumarunui, settler, and William George Somerville, of Taumarunui, accountant, as tenants in common, in equal shares for the amount of the Government Valuation; or in the alternative That the said 5,000 acres be leased to the said Christopher James Somerville and William George Somerville, as tenants in common, in equal shares for forty-two years, the rental for the first twenty-one years to be 5 per cent. of the Government valuation of the said land, and for the second twenty-one years being double the rental for the first period. The above area lies between the Taringamutu and Pungapunga Streams, and is bounded on the south-west by Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 1, and on the north-east by the land recently purchased by the Taringamutu Totara Sawmills (Limited), and the applicants agree that such portions as may be decided upon be reserved for resident owners, and that road lines be laid through the said land (Somerville, Cook, and Co.).
