Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Waihi, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Waihi, taken on the 28th day of January, 1920, on the proposal of the Waihi Borough Council to borrow the sum of £4,000 for paying compensation or the purchase-price of an area of land at the Waihi Beach, containing approximately 76 acres, and being part of Blocks 2, 3, and 5 of Block III, Waihi North Survey District, and in respect of which steps are now being taken to acquire the same under the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purposes of a public recreation and pleasure ground, and also for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the road known as the Waihi Beach Road leading to such area.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 549.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 280. Informal, 0.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

MY LORD.—I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Excellency’s despatch, No. 167, of the 6th September, and to request you to inform your Ministers that His Majesty the King has been pleased to approve of the retention of the title of “Honourable” by Mr. George Warren Russell, Mr. Arthur Mielzener Myers, Mr. William Donald Stuart MacDonald, and Mr. Josiah Alfred Hanan, who have served for more than three years continuously as Members of the Executive Council of the Dominion of New Zealand.
- A notification to this effect will be published in the London Gazette.

Fixing Dates for the Election and First Meeting of the Tolaga Bay Harbour Board.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 6 of the Tolaga Bay Harbour Act, 1919, to appoint Wednesday, the 3rd day of March, 1920, to be the date for the election of the first members of the Tolaga Bay Harbour Board, and Wednesday, the 17th day of March, 1920, at 11 a.m., to be the time, and the office of the Uawa County Council in Tolaga Bay to be the place, for the first meeting of the said Board; and has also, in pursuance of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, appointed Frederick Thomas Robinson, the Clerk of the Uawa County Council, to be the Returning Officer for the purposes of the said election.

THE following estimated average yields per acre of wheat and oats for the season 1919–20 have been compiled from reports furnished by Stock Inspectors of the Department of Agriculture throughout the Dominion, and are now published for general information :—

In accordance with the above estimates, the total yield of wheat for the Dominion should be approximately 4,100,000 bushels, as against an actual yield of 6,567,629 bushels for the season 1918–19.
The percentage of oat crop threshed in 1918–19 was 35·44 of the total area under that crop. Assuming that a similar proportion is threshed this year, the total yield of grain should be 5,575,000 bushels. The oats threshed in the previous season yielded 6,884,609 bushels.
The reports of the Inspectors of Stock may be briefly summarized as follows :—
