IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section three of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, as amended by section five of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1919, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following appointments of members of Local Land Purchase Boards for the respective land districts set forth, for a period of two years, as from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty :—

Notice respecting Proposed Abolition of Pukekohe Drainage District, County of Waikato.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 2nd February, 1920.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, praying that the Pukekohe Drainage District described in the Schedule hereto may be abolished. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the abolition of the said drainage district which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

PUKEKOHE DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, being the Pukekohe Drainage District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 10th January, 1907, page 14.

Fixing Dates on which certain Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, are to be furnished.

Wellington, 2nd February, 1920.

PURSUANT to section 22 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended the 31st December, 1919, shall be transmitted to the Fire Boards concerned, in the manner prescribed by the said section, on or before the 31st May, 1920.

Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on Dannevirke and Hastings Fire Boards by Fire-insurance Companies.

Wellington, 5th February, 1920.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, Francis Henry Dillon Bell, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Monday, the 23rd February, 1920, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Dannevirke and Hastings Fire Boards by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. P. H. Harris.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks VI and VII, Waihou Survey District, Ohinemuri County; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at
