power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit,
for the period of one year from the date of this Order in
Council, all alienation of the Native lands specified in the
Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Partial Revocation of Order in Council extending Prohibition of
Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in
favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of January, 1920.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING
IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-three
of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any
Order in Council made under that section may at any time
be varied or revoked:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council
referred to in Part I of the Schedule hereto, but only in so
far as it affects the lands mentioned in Part II of the said
Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
PART I.
ORDER in Council under section 363 of the Native Land Act,
1909, dated the 15th day of December, 1919, affecting Wai-
takaruru No. 2F and another block.

PART II.
Waitakaruru No. 2F: Area, 76 acres; Piako Survey District.

Variation of Order in Council extending Prohibition of
Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation
in favour of the Crown.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-three
of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any
Order in Council made under that section may at any time
be varied or revoked:
And whereas it is desirable to vary the Order in Council
made under the said section on the fifteenth day of Decem-
ber, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published
in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighth day of January,
one thousand nine hundred and twenty, hereinafter referred
to as "the said Order in Council," extending an Order in
Council prohibiting private alienation of certain Native
land known as Waitakaruru No. 2F and No. Ic Section 3G
No. 1:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority here-
inbefore mentioned, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby vary the said Order in Council by substituting
for the words "Waitakaruru No. 1C Section 3G No. 1,"
contained in the Schedule to the said Order in Council, the
words "Waitakaruru No. 1C Section 3G No. 2."

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Westland.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called "the said
Act"), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-
shooting season in the Westland Acclimatization District,
exclusive of all sanctuaries, and the conditions affecting
the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable
therefor.

REGULATIONS.

  1. RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed in the Westland
    Acclimatization District from the 1st day of April, 1920, to
    the 20th day of May, 1920 (both days inclusive).
  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the
    Chief Postmaster at Hokitika, on payment of a license fee
    of £2, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and
    subject to the said Act and these regulations; provided that
    not more than one such license shall be issued to the same
    person.
  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than two stags, and
    no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten
    points.
  4. No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext
    whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany
    either himself or any attendant he may have with him.
  5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing
    any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.
  6. Regulations as to deer "tags," per New Zealand Gazette
    No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, shall be strictly adhered to
    by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all
    unused "tags" to the secretary of the Westland Acclimati-
    zation Society, Hokitika, immediately he has finished
    stalking for the season for which such "tags" have been
    issued, together with a statement of the number of deer
    shot.
  7. Any person committing a breach of any of these regu-
    lations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding
    £20.

SCHEDULE.
License to take or kill Game (Deer).
No. ,
of having this day paid the sum of
£2, is hereby authorized to take or kill two red deer (stags),
of not less than ten points, within the Westland Acclima-
tization District, from the 1st day of April, 1920, to the 20th
day of May, 1920 (both days inclusive), subject to the pro-
visions of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regula-
tions thereunder in force within the said district.

REGULATIONS.

  1. RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within the Otago
    Acclimatization District, in the Hunter Valley, Dingle, Hawea
    Flat, and Makarora districts from the 1st day of April, 1920,
    to the 20th day of May, 1920 (both days inclusive), and in
    the Greenvale, Wart Hill, Upper Pomahaka, and Whitecomb
    districts from 24th day of March, 1920, to 13th May, 1920
    (both days inclusive).
  2. Fallow-deer bucks may be taken or killed within the
    said district, except in the areas described in the First Schedule
    hereto, from the 1st day of April, 1920, to the 15th day of
    May, 1920 (both days inclusive).
  3. Licenses to take or kill red-deer stags may be issued by
    the Chief Postmaster, Dunedin, on the recommendation of
